The most impressive progressive rock band ever.
Everything about this box set makes it 100% worth owning. Obviously the two studio albums and the various audio mixes as well as the EP alone would make it worth having if you did not own them already. There is 10 hours of what is called bootleg TV from Germany circa 2000. These are each 20 to 45 minute sections of performances although amateur recording well filmed with excellent sound quality. Covering most of the songs and dozens of improvs from this period. There is a full live show on two discs from New Haven Connecticut 2001 as well as a full 2003 performance. Also to additional 2 discs of 2001-2003 performances and three more discs covering this time. With interspace improvisations. An absolute gem and must have is the 2008 release on two discs with additional drummer Gavin Harrison from what was there 40th anniversary tour. And of course the almost endless edition of the Projekcts both studio and live. Very engaging material to listen to directly or excellent as background. They're apparently is a timing issue on one of these I believe that no human can actually tell that. This is definitely the box too own.

It is absolutely great box set and it is limited edition
I think this box will be one of those items in collections that will be kept till the last breath. Absolutely unique experience and very interesting musical ideas. This box is HUGE! You will need a lot of time to explore this box. Even if you know King Crimson music it will surprise you and show how talented these musicians are. The sound quality is great, studio-level; the sound is very clear, detailed, and powerful. I would strongly recommend it to any King Crimson fan and for all who love first-class progressive rock. Top-level. I think some people don't know that it is a limited edition. Do not expect it to be available for years.

Well worth the price!
One aspect of being a Crim fan, aside from having a depleted bank account, is the sheer volume of material available for us to collect. Heaven and Earth, the last of the Big Box Sets, is a pricey undertaking but the fan has to have it. This set documents Fripp's move into the new millennium with new pieces highlighting a dissonant angular attack and a powerful heavy metal punch. This music is simply thrilling! They eschew playing old Crim favorites in order to create new classics like LTIA part IV, Dangerous Curves, The Facts of Life, Happy With What You Have To Be Happy With, The ConstruKction of Light, and the weirdly funky The World's My Oyster Soup Kitchen Floor Wax Museum. Again it's the live material that shines here; these are supremely talented and confident musicians that Know They Can Deliver The Goods. And a word here for Trey Gunn and Pat Mastolotto who acquit themselves beautifully with this new material. Don't hesitate. Get it!

AS ABOVE SO BELEW
I suspect it will take me a year or so to make my way through this set; it will become a form of practice, so to speak. Part of the daily assortment of action/inaction. Anyway, as far as various incarnations of KC go I find this the most opaque. Belew's rather cliché sense of humor just sits wobbling and uncomfortable atop of some genuinely complex music. Maybe it was his exposure to David Byrne that proved overwhelming to whatever his own, inherent lyric sense might have been. Who can say? But his lyrics and singing always strike me as if I'm living at the end of a pier, perpetually on the receiving end of The Fish Slapping Dance. Still and yet, at moments the pioneering works of Rhys Chatham seem to shine through in a highly polished state, and I smile, happy with what I have to be happy with. So, yup, this one will take a while and it will be quite a bit of work. But, to my credit, I will make the effort that the music deserves and demands.

Very Happy I bought this.
In the late nineties instead of breaking up King Crimson broke down into little fractal groups of three or four members at a time and this release has every show that they played on One Blu-Ray and then the other Blu-ray has 10 hours of live footage.!! If you're into King Crimson this is well worth the money

stunning
This is an absolutely beautiful set of recordings that reflect the incredible array of talent and breath of vision that KC demonstrated over the years. Its expensive but its ~2 dozen discs and many of the tracks are interesting takes on prior releases or novel so plenty of bang for the buck. Love it and think its a really great addition to their oeuvre.

BE VERY CAREFUL - Faulty Blu-Ray Discs
This set is, of course, excellent in terms of content. However, the official KC-DGM website now features several articles about the faulty Blu-Ray discs - they play at an incorrect speed. Trying to get this corrected either at DGM or from Amazon is like getting blood from a stone. So I am stuck with a dud. Apparently it is too expensive for KC themselves to fix the discs properly and send them to those of us who paid for this (Mike Oldfield did this with one of his reissues, I cannot see why KC can't). Amazon seem to think it is a KC problem. And don't try to use Amazon's chat service to sort this out, they are hopeless. So be careful. Yes, the content is excellent blah, blah, blah but you pay for CDs, DVDs and faulty Blu-Rays with no intention to fix this? Are new releases now fixed, and can we have one of those?Very poor service from King Crimson, DGM and Amazon in this case.

Boxed marvel
Only dipped the proverbial toe so far, a quick skim over a representative (for me) selection, and even allowing for my over enthusiasm, it sounds tremendous; the re-jigging of '..Construktion..' for example, never a 'bad' album, more a case of it hiding in the murky depths; now, with a seemingly more congenial hand on the mixing/mastering and PM's re-done percussion...well, you can hear the thing now, and it is more than ripe for reassessment.Beautifully boxed (as much as i am attached to the Islands sleeve used on the last box, PJ Crook illustrations are always a treat, and seem to go hand in glove with this later incarnation) and the addition of so much Projekt material - well, my learned friend above was quite correct; Ahmet Zappa - look upon this and weep.Anyway, i ramble too much in my enthusiasm, my apologies. And as my daughter pointed out recently, shouldn't you be getting past material possessions and acquisitiveness by now? Ha! - not when they're this good!

King Crimson like you’ve never heard them before!
If you reading this, it’s either because you bought the previous box sets or you are a new Crimson fan... do yourself a favour: buy it while it’s still available!! If you are a multichannel geek like me, you’ll love the new 5.1 remixes of their last 2 albums. But the real treat are the complete recordings of their fracktal concerts, known as Projeckts 1,2,3 and 4. You get all their concerts ever played !!! In outstanding soundboard quality!! I don’t know how long its gonna take me to listen all this, but I’m gone trough 2 concerts and I’m loving it :DThe Power to Believe and The Construction of light in HD master 5.1 sound incredibly crisp and clear it literally makes you wanna pump up the volume!Don’t be a fool! Don’t let this one get past!!

Essential for Crimheads
The last of the “big box sets” from one of the most influential groups of the last 50 years. Good to have both studio and live performance from another transition of KC and also the ProjeKcts

A modern Masterpiece
This package of work is beyond belief in all respects, composition, musicianship, production, recording, packaging, value for money. It is amazing. Life changing if you are lucky enough for this to be your first KC encounter
