Lutron Skylark Preset Dimmer Switch, 600-Watt, Single-Pole, S-600P-IV, Ivory

Very easy to install. I took off the wall plate, unscrewed the switch from the wall. I only had 3 wires. 2 black and 1 copper ground. I unscrewed the wires, and used the provided yellow caps to connect the wires together ( the Lutron wires come already connected to the unit so you have to use the screw caps to connect the wires from the wall). It didn't matter for me which black wires I connected, so i just used the "bottom" one to connect to the left Lutron wire, and my old "top" wire to connect to the Lutron right wire( right meaning if I am facing the back of the unit from the wall). It was a little tough shoving the wires back into the wall, but I got it done. I'd say the whole thing took me 10-15 minutes. I am medium handy. This is actually the second one I've done. The other I installed was a 3 pole switch was a bit more involved. I've also installed 2 solar timers which the 1st took about an hour, because I had to continuously run up an down the stairs to turn the power off , test, etc. In any event, don't be afraid. Just shut the power off and make sure you only need a single pole switch, meaning there is only 1 location to turn the light on, as opposed to a 3 way pol, meaning there are 2 different switches that control the light. If you need that, it's slightly more involved, but Lutron sells that as well. Enjoy!

Neeeded to replace one that was finally becoming a little erratic AFTER 20 YEARS. Since it was one of of 2 on the same wall plate I wanted an exact match if possible. Checked Amazon and sure enough it is still in production and at a very reasonable price. We have about a great many of them in our home and only the one has ever had an issue. They install easily and operate smoothly and troublefree. Excellent product.

Easy install

I installed this in an existing four gang interior box, it replaced an existing SPST switch. It is used to operate a couple of new 16 watt dimable LED ceiling fixtures I had installed replacing two existing, incandescent fixtures. I was a little bit leery as the item description doesn't specifically indicate the switch for LED lights, but the comments section showed that several other people had used this switch for the same purpose. It operates my two lights very well, full-off to full-on, and everything in between. The light almond color matches the other 3 switches in the box perfectly. I am very happy with this switch, providing it continues to operate this well.

This dimmer switch goes perfectly with the Philips 424382 11-watt A19 LED Dimmable Light Bulb. No flickering or buzzing and dims down quite low. It was easy to install. It comes with mounting screws and wire nuts. The rear of the unit is pretty large compared to a standard light switch, so you may want to make sure there is enough room behind the switch ahead of time. It took some careful wire placement to get mine in place.

Works well. Lutron is a name that I can trust. Too much china junk on there, won't put them in my projects(just no quality control). I wish Amazon would get with the program and start marketing the better quality electrical gear. Hard to sift through all the off brand crap they sell.

I bought a pair of these to replace two super-crappy rotary dimmers that came standard with our new house. So glad I did. Before, all of my lights (controlled by the dimmer) would flicker when I would turn them down low. They couldn't seem to hold a consistent voltage level. Sometimes the lights would pop brighter all of a sudden. Then start flickering between bright and off! All of these problems are gone with these new Lutrons. Installation was a breeze and I was also pleasantly surprised by their "resolution." And, of course, the best part is that the on/off switch is separate. So once you find levels that you like, you don't have to re-adjust them all the time.

I looked up and down to find a compatible dimmer for my CREE LED light bulbs. I read some bad stories that worried me. It seemed like finding a compatible dimmer for a LED bulb is not trivial. I finally was able to get a hold of a CREE certified dimmer list, and this one (Lutron Skylark S600P) was one of them, with the lowest price tag. After ordering it and testing it, I am convinced that I made a good selection. Can't be happier.

This was a perfect buy, exactly what we needed for a replacement - instructions were not clear - so if you are replacing - take a picture of what is already installed to match the wiring. -
