Bought this beach umbrella hoping for shade, got a full-on wind tunnel instead. It doubles as a small kite if the wind’s feeling adventurous. On the plus side, I’ve never had such an impromptu cardio workout chasing it down the sand. 10/10, would recommend… if you like your sunburn with a side of excitement!”

Functional beach parasol
A decent umbrella, keeps the sun off you and the bag with strap is a great idea. However the strap broke away from the bag after 4 days. Otherwise ok if a bit pricey for a beach parasol.

Did not stand up to a gusty wind (not a strong wind)
We bought it as a beach parasol. It was not sturdy enough to be used outside our beach hut for long. One day it was up and the wind was gusty (not very much) but the parasol flipped inside out, so we took it down and later when it was calm tried to reset it. That seemed to work for a while, but it turned out to have damaged the mechanism, as it would not click into place when pushed up. In fact the release button ceased working too. Eventually the other day it just would not go up and even with a neighbour's help we could not manipulate it in a light breeze. After a struggle we gave up and forced it into a state where we could tuck it into its sleeve. Our next move is to leave it in the rubbish for collection. OK it was not expensive, but we must have had all of a couple of hours of use out of it before it broke completely.

Really great parasol
This was such a great purchase. It’s good quality and sturdy. Used it for the first time a few weeks ago at the beach, and there was a little wind, but the parasol held well. The carry bag it comes with is also perfect. Would definitely recommend. I also purchased a separate parasol anchor which I used in conjunction.
