A great comfortable boot, I have having problems finding a boot that doesn't cause pain but these are spot on, comfortable, the size 9 was spot on for sizing, good tread and so far waterproof.

Boots
Comfortable enough though not in the same league as the more expensive brands in respect of look and feel. Not bad though as a budget walking boot.

poor quality and vast price variance
First of all, my previous experience with Columbia boots has been VERY positive. Their winter Bugaboots are my go-to snow boots and they are fantastic. These however, are a prime example of a cheap boot at inflated prices. Extraordinarily inflated in some colours. How can a mediocre boot cost £270+? I bought the cheapest colour, a size 10 men's black at £65. They are exactly the same quality as the highest colours. At first glance, they do indeed look very nice. My girlfriend loved the variety of colours and was shocked to find her favourite was the £270 version. At second glance you notice the sole and heel. Very grippy looking but as you run your fingers over the ridges you discover an extremely soft and weak rubber. I doubt these would last a month for anyone who was a serious hiker. That rubber is going to wear down very, very quickly. Likewise the rather fetching and soft leather uppers. I haven't tried these in the rain, but i suspect they'll lose out in the UK weather. Trying them on, I also discovered that the US size 10 is actually the equivalent of the UK size 11. If you really must buy these and you live in Europe and the UK, buy them in a full size smaller. Even though they were a larger size, i have nearly always appreciated that Columbia accommodate wider feet in some of their boots and shoes. It's a real shame they are lacking in so many places. I half wondered if i'd bought the boots from a reputable source when i started to examine them, but online youtube reviews pretty much confirm the problems i saw. If only Columbia made a version of these to last and used quality construction in addition to their comfort and wide fitting knowledge, these boots would have made my footwear shortlist every time. Especially for casual hiking. I'd have worn them at weddings even. As they stand now, i could not recommend them. Those rubber soles and heels will be worn out in no time. Returning them with regret.

Quality has declined
I have been wearing this style of Colombia ankle boot for several years, but with this pair I have noticed a significant decline in the construction quality. The lining at the back has worn away after just a few weeks wear, and the laces are fraying as they pass through the eyelets. That said, I still like the design of this boot, and the colour combinations are a refreshing change from other manufacturers. Now, it could be that I just got a bad pair of boots so I will probably buy another pair just to check. At the rate the current boots are wearing out that will be very soon.

Soft, not wide, not waterproof, not expected to last.
Have bought Columbia products before so was hoping these would be decent given the reviews. Firstly I need wide fit and these are no wider than some normal fit boots. I also found them too short as my toe is right up the front even though I sized up. Second, I need high rise for my ankle but these are quite soft and I badly twisted my ankle within the first week. Third, as others said, sole is soft as is the upper. Not expecting these to last long. Fourth, I have only been in long wet grass but my feet got wet. Certainly not waterproof And finally some varients over £300! No thanks, these will be going back.

These shoes are great. My husband has been wearing these for years. Good support. It can be hard to find size 14. These fit him well.

Fits great . Comfortable but not as waterproof as they could be.

Love this boot! I bought them specifically because of a trip to Acadia National Park where we did some pretty intense hiking. I put around 25 miles on them in a few days. These were very comfortable, almost forgot they were on my feet. They are super grippy, especially on rocks. They even somewhat had to serve as a climbing shoe and helped a lot in that regard. I can't recommend them enough at this price point. I did not get to test them out with water resistance, but they did well in mud.

I always buy Columbia. These are amazingly light. I hike a lot, and am used to wearing out boots in a single year. I worry -- the weak link is often the glue holding the leather to the heal. There's no stitching. We'll see how these do.
