what material are the strings?

Hello from the manufacturer,The Cigano GJ-15 is designed for steel strings and ships with EJ84L Gypsy Jazz, Loop End, Light, 10-44, but will accommodate ball end strings as well. Sorry, it does not. The internal resonator is typically only found in very high priced replicas of the original Selmer Maccaferri guitar. Most Gypsy guitars do not have it as it's not really necessary.

Mine came with steel strings. I've been continuing to put steel strings since.
