A very good drill, and a very versatile screwdriver - better than any dedicated driver I've seen!
The body is much shorter than other drills, presumably because the brushless motor is smaller, which makes it better balanced round the handle, so easier to use. The drilling functions - hammer and standard - are well controlled by the variable speed trigger, and have plenty of power. I was a bit nervous about the keyless chuck - which on my previous Bosch drill kept loosening - but the problem seems to have been sorted here, perhaps with the rotation stopping a touch less abruptly. The screwdriving functions work very well, and I find I can be bothered to get it out for even a couple of screws. Other drivers I've had were not so tempting. The magnetic bit-surround does the job well by holding the screw until it bites, and retracting when the screw head meets the surface. The two special chucks (offset and right-angled) make furniture assembly a doddle, and can be fitted in a second or two. Another nice tough is that the electronic reverse (for removing screws) reverts to forward rotation after 30 seconds, so if you don't keep using it, you'll not try to drill a hole in reverse. And the fact that the battery pack is common to my other drill (for which I have two) means I haven't run out of power. I bought this because of the special chucks, and because the chuck on my PBS-18 kept loosening, but it's so good that I've abandoned the old one completely.I unreservedly recommend this.

Power and Long Battery Life from quite a small Drill
The power of the drill far exceeds my larger Black and Decker battery powered drill. The size of the drill is somewhat misleading as it certainly has the required power. Since my recent purchase this drill has been in constant used as a screwdriver and for wood, brick and concrete, including hammer drilling and the three include attachments have proved invaluable and have made some of my other power tools redundant. The power is nicely controlled and changing rotation is quick and very easy as is changing the included different attachments All in all I have been highly delighted with this purchase and would certainly recommend it for inclusion in anyone's tool kit.

Very pleased with this well made drill
Since it arrived a few weeks ago, I've been putting it to use on various little house projects, and I have to say, I'm really impressed. It's a very capable drill. For example, it’s coped easily with 6mm holes in dense bricks that my older impact drill (a DIY store own-brand one) was unable to cope with. The drill and components all feel very solid, robust and well made. The ergonomics are very good, making the drill very comfortable to hold and easy to use.

Excellent!
Very compact size for the power, great features, if it lasts as long as my previous Bosch drill I will b every pleased.

Brilliant drill combo
I already had a Bosch 18v impact drill/screwdriver which I find seriously underpowered compared to a rival 18v one. However, glad to see they've made some improvements here and in the short time I've had it it's successfully screwed in (with separate attachment) a long timber bolt into a landscaping sleeper. You can feel it step up a gear as it's doing it.This is unique from other drills and my other Bosch in that the forward/backward/off slider has been replaced with a digital switch with LED indicator on top to show you the head direction. Probably the future and easy to get used to although there is no formal off, just not "on" if button not pressed. This also comes with three head attachments in total: a standard drillbit holder, an offset head and another one. These just detach with a simple click mechanism but do seem to have to be positioned in a certain way to get them to click. The non standard attachments allow for sideways drilling and screwing and combine to allow you to do this. The offset head is for those annoying moments when then drill body is too big to fit in the area you are working in.I don't have an immediate use for these attachments but have had in the past. After market non OEM fittings that I've viewed recently have had mixed reviews but these are built for this device. These could also replace those useless flexi-screw attachments. Also comes with battery and charger. All in all a good drill. Worst part was drill/screw bit release. Had to out in hammer mode with near max setting to release bit.

Brilliant. Another good one from Bosch
I make no secret of the fact that I like Bosch tools. I have a sander, jig saw, stapler, screwdriver, circular saw, plane and drills - all in the familiar green boxes. With few exceptions, Bosch tools are good quality and good value. They are also pretty robust, which matters to me as a property repairer and developer. This drill is the latest in a long line of drills from Bosch. It has all the normal features that a good drill should have, plus a few extras that answer those odd questions you ask yourself when you are working in tight corners. The drill is well balanced and doesn’t weigh too heavily in use. It has the usual rechargeable battery and charger in the box, and the new style batteries can be used in a variety of other appliances. One point for flexibility. The chuck is something new to me.The chuck as fitted is just like any other friction fit chuck, but this one is also removable. By compressing the ring on the chuck end you can pull the standard chuck off to reveal a screwdriver stub. This means that if you are drilling and screwdriving at the same time you don’t need a second drill, or need to keep changing drills for bits. Drill the hole, pull off the drill chuck, drop the screwdriver bit in and you are ready to turn screws. Easy. This model also has the impact driving facility, and this, too, works well in brick and block. There is also an offset screwdriver bit holder, which helps in tight corners when you just can’t get the drill in the gap!A magnetic screw holder can be pushed onto the driver stub, and this will hold the screw in place whilst you manoeuvre your drill, and sometimes yourself, into difficult spaces and places. This is also brilliant when putting up ceiling plasterboard, a job for which you already need at least 3 hands. You can also combine the drill head and the right angle adapter which allows you to drill behind narrow openings. The drill has good torque, and a good range is speeds, controlled by trigger pressure. There is an electronic, rather than manual, forward reverse flip switch on both sides of the drill, and a handy light to conform which way you are drilling. On the battery pack, there are 3 leds to tell you the state of charge. It is a very good development of the drill, and will be welcome by anyone who has ever wondered why they don’t make drills that can drill round corners.Well, now they do!Can’t fault it.

Great Drill, Easy to Use
I've had several drivers in the past, both corded and cordless and I have preferred to not use cordless ones as the power never really seems to compare and once the battery starts to die it has been a waste of time trying to use. However, this drivers power is excellent and I'm loving using it as opposed to running out the extension cable.I'm not a fan of the button to change the driver direction. This is the first driver I've had where it hasn't been a button that pushes through the side of the unit from left to right (and back again) so this is going to take a bit of getting used to. There is an indicator on the top to tell you which way it is going, but on older drivers you just knew from the switch position (old school now, I guess).Another thing that takes some getting used to is changing the heads. The standard head I can get on and off very easily but the two heads for corners and bends I have to fiddle wit ha bit to get them to stay on. Once they're latched on though they're no problem. Neither of these things though are worth knocking off a star.Where I come close to knocking off a star though is how bits are tightened into the head. there is no chuck key required so you simply twist the head (lefty loosey, righty tighty) and the bit is gripped or released accordingly. However, when I'm tightening it, the head clicks around and it feels like I'm forcing against a mechanism that will eventually break. I'm not a regular user of tools like this, I only have them around for the occasional odd job, so all I can do is trust that it's just supposed to feel like this and that I'm not going to break it.The top of the driver has the standard power selector, a switch that slides from left to right to select screw mode, drill, or hammer drill. In front of that is the torque power selector which again is standard on drivers, and rotates. This set comes with one battery and it is easily removed and recharged. Obviously if you plan to regularly use the driver for long periods you're going to want a set with more than one battery. So far I haven't used this for long enough that the battery has run out on me.It all comes in a rigid box with neat spaces that everything fits in, and an empty space that will take a second battery if you have one.

Superb cordless drill
A really top of the range cordless drill. It's electronically controlled, with a brushless motor, so there is much finer graduation of speed (on the trigger) and torque (20 settings for screws). Switching direction is no longer mechanical, but two switches, in the familiar place) which has the same effect.Included are two screwdriver adaptors - one offset for approaching close to corners and other obstacles, the other at 90 degrees. They are easy to switch with the main drill attachment, so could be used instead of the usual magnetic bit in the drill. Note the two attachments are only for screwdriver bits - not for drilling.I got the one with a single battery. Check the difference as it may well be worth getting an additional battery, so you never have to drop tools just to recharge the battery. There's a white LED for illuminating the drill/screwdriver and a three stage green battery charge indicator (four stages if you include flashing at 10% left). The drill has a hammer (impact) setting, great for getting through masonry. All in all, an excellent cordless drill.
