Griot's Garage Orange Foam Correcting Pads for Car Polishing and Detailing, Removes Light to Moderate Paint Defects, Durable, Machine-Washable, 11241, 3", Set of 3

I got this orange correcting pads and they do the job. It was my first time doing a paint correction, and I achieved eliminating all hologram marks from a bad rotary buffer job. I paired with griots G9 and 3D One. No need for two steps. The pads, machine and compound work great correcting a finishing. Are a little pricey but worth the money spent.

What can you say,...these are Griot's Garage pads, right? They're perfect for the stated purpose. What I'm not saying and will say is that I'm not using them the way their intended. That's terrible, right? I'm using them with a liquid metal polish to impart a mirror finish to raw metal (copper) finials (post caps). They're versatile, highly effective, the perfect size and fit, and easy to use.

After getting more serious about detailing my car, I wanted a pad that could actually make a noticeable difference without being overly aggressive, and the Griot’s Garage Orange Foam Correcting Pad has been a great addition to my setup. I paired it with my DA polisher and was impressed with how easily it worked through the lighter scratches, swirls, and imperfections in the paint. What I really like is that it gives you a good amount of correction while still being manageable for someone who isn't a professional detailer. The pad has a nice balance between cutting ability and control, and it doesn't feel like you're fighting the machine while you're working. I also like the size and feel of the pad. It stays easy to control on larger panels while still being useful around tighter areas. After working a section, the paint looked noticeably cleaner and more refined, especially under direct lighting where all those little imperfections normally stand out. One thing I would recommend is keeping the pad clean throughout the job and following the recommended amount of compound. Once you get the process down, the results are very satisfying. If you're getting into paint correction and want something that's effective without jumping straight into an extremely aggressive setup, this is definitely a pad I'd consider. It has become one of the pads I reach for when I want to improve the appearance of my paint without making the process unnecessarily complicated.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: I've gone through a grip of these at this point, and I keep them on hand as a general purpose pad. With a 12mm long throw 3" buffer, these will heat up and collapse in the middle with extended use, or if you apply any sort of real pressure though - so I would not consider these for anything heavy duty or they'll simply fail. I've never had the backing fall apart, and they will last quite a while - several washings - provided you use them for little stuff. I use these for mirrors, quick one-steps on headlights or for spot polishing where I won't be using them for an extended period. If you're using a long throw, or for aggressive work, I recommend using a pad that's designed for that kind of work. These are a standard duty workhorse that will remove light blemishes and light to moderate oxidation.

Good pad matching the correcting cream used. I have not used a waffle pad yet so cannot compare the two, but this pad works well.

I was using a budget polisher and still got results. Tried it with 3D One and Meguiar’s Ultimate Compound for minor paint correction, I was pleased with the results.

Pads work well for waxing the car.

Seems to cut just as well as the lake country HDO pad. Did excellent work on a black car I have here.

The Griot's Garage 11241 3" Orange Polishing Pad (Set of 3) did a great job on the tight spots and thin strips on our vehicles. This pad is actually the COMPOUNDING PAD and is, of course, used for paint correction. I happen to have a 3 pack each of orange, black and red pads. The Griot's 3" BLACK pad is for polishing, usually used next. Lastly, Griot's 3" RED pad is for waxing (finishing). With experience, we can learn to use all three pads together, two pads paired or even one pad alone to do the job. My experience has been that all three pads do a very good job. The 3" pads spun much better (faster) than 5" pads on the same vehicle at the same speed using the same product. I suppose that stands to reason; same power driving a smaller pad. 3" pads are essential for auto paint correction. I could not get into smaller areas with just the 5" pad. Having used all three Griot's Garage Pads (orange, black, red) I can give them my highest recommendation for performance and value.
