y'know what? y'know what?? actually not bad!
i'm as bitter to amazon for what it's given me before with sub-par things, but i'm not in the market for overspending right now. i ordered an old violin that needs some new parts and it's actually really hard to get violin fittings that DON'T take a month to be delivered, so i thought i'd take a gamble on this cause i mean, it looks nice in the pictures right? unusual for brass instead of all wood accents, but i think that makes it a little more cool. so i ordered these expecting rough edges, poor cuts, and low grade wood stained to look better, but what i got were parts that look exactly the same quality and feel as $50-100 fittings i've had before. i was skeptical so i did a thorough look-over, and they're all a consistent black ebony with brown tones in the light like a high grade cut of the wood. i don't know why the description says "rosewood" because none of the parts are, but i assume it's a language barrier things so i'm not gonna be mad at that. the tailpiece looks like it has the brass inlaid but it's hard to say for sure, but i'm not going to try to pry it out to test it. the brass rings on the pegs slip off a little, but can be remediated with some hide glue or some taps with a rawhide mallet and are not that big a deal. it's pretty normal for accents to be loose. really actually surprised at this, especially for the price-value and being an entire complete set.DO BE WARNED THOUGH this is a set for someone who knows how to fit violins. the pegs and end button are NOT cut down because they need to be custom fit to the instrument before being installed. the pegs are also not drilled because pre-drilled pegs can pose fitting issues if they don't line up on the peg box. don't get mad when you get them and they don't fit, because they're not supposed to fit YOUR instrument until fit for it. however, regardless of that, if your instrument needs new parts and you don't want to pay $75 for a similar set that's less decorative, just take this to your local luthier and you're still going to save a lot.

GOOD, BUt NOT GREAT
This is a complete set at a reasonable price. But there is one problem. The tuning pegs of a violin need and are supposed to have small holes drilled through the peg. This is needed in order to start the string to wind onto the peg. For some reason, these pegs were not so drilled. I am going to keep them and drill the holes myself, but I should not have to do that. Aside from that, it is a good, complete set. Were it not for the lack of he holes, I would have rated it full five stars.

Mine had a chunk missing?
Very disappointed. The headrest bottom looks like it broke, and then was filled with wood filler... wood filler does not stain like the rest of the wood, so it's very noticeable!Everything else was fine, and understand you need to shave the pegs and position and drill your holes. This is intentional since every violin is slightly different. Just wish the headrest wasn't a bust. So close to being good. *sigh*

Did not fit ...
Look nice but the pegs and button did not fit the holes of the violin.
