Does anyone know the dimensions (length and width) of this brush? Thanks.

Brush part is 3x4.75”. Total length of brush is 9.5”. Bristles are close to 1/2” H. Bought at WalMart. I have approx 3” hair. I love this brush. Purchased on on a whim. Going Hubby one. He has almost shaved head. I think he will love this. If nothing else a massage! I am 65 yo and it’s the best I can ever recall. Thank you!

Is this brush OK to use on afro textured hair?

I wouldn't. I'm not all that pleased with this brush. It doesn't really comb the hair thoroughly. I don't recommend it.

Can you use this brush to blow dry your hair?

I have been a hairstylist for 20 years. Boar bristled hair brushes are the best type of brush for all hair types. They put less strain on the hair when brushing. They keep the cuticle of the hair shaft smooth while blow drying. I use them for straightening curly and frizzy hair. I have not tried this particular brush, but these are my findings with good quality 100% boar bristle hair brushes. Hope this helps!

I developed some thick gummy material on my brush bristles after using it for 6 months. Have you experienced that? How do you remove it?

Hairbrushes should be cleaned once in a while. The boar's hair brushes especially are designed to pick up the oils in your hair and redistribute them. They will also collect the product you use and get gunky. Sprinkle some baking soda on your brush then soak it for about an hour in a half vinegar, half water solution. (It will fizz.) Rinse it completely and it should be good to go.
