DellGenuine AX510 Entry Flat Panel Stereo Sound Bar, 1908FP

My wife and I often do professional photo editing and I had an older Dell UltraSharp monitor that I gave to her when I recently upgraded to a larger monitor.Desiring a clean look to her desk space, my wife did not want to keep her traditional "computer speakers", but she still needed a decent sound solution for listening to lectures, watching videos, playing her puzzle games and listening to background music while she works.After some research, I found this Dell AX510 speaker mentioned in the owners manual for the monitor and found it here at a surprisingly great price!The speaker mounted cleanly to the underside of the monitor, keeping her desk clean and clear, and connected to her computer's sound source without an issue. The speaker is low profile and largely unnoticeable, which she really likes.The sound quality isn't stellar in my book, but I have a large pair of reference monitors on my desk for music work, so I may be biased. That said, the little Dell speaker gets decently loud and has a nice tonal balance for being such a small package. Definitely better than my Acer laptop with its built-in "Dolby Home Theater" system. The Dell speaker bar sounds better than most sub-20-dollar computer speakers I've tried, as well.Volume is easy to adjust with the large knob on the side and a small light appears to let you know the speaker is on. The features are sparse, but that makes it a great plug-and-play solution.All in all, the AX510 is a great value for the price and would fit the needs of most casual users with Dell monitors who may be looking to save desk space without sacrificing acceptable sound.Highly recommended!

This is a reasonable set of computer speakers (at a good price) so long as you know that you have a monitor that can work with them (i.e. a Dell monitor which also has a "DC power connector for Dell Soundbar" on it - like the Dell U2311H monitor). Most of the complaints seem to be from people who misunderstood that these speakers need to be powered from the monitor, itself, and that these particular speakers do not ship with their own power supply.These speakers come with the short cable required to attach to the monitor power connector and they also come with a longer 3.5mm audio cable to plug into a sound source. Installation was really easy - the tabs just slide into the bottom of the monitor and snap into place. Then you plug in the two cables. Very easy. On/Off and volume is controlled by the circular knob on the right side of the speakers. (But I just leave the speakers on and pre-set at a reasonable volume and let the monitor supply the power (or not) when it turns on and off.)OK, so the white light is annoying - a vertical bar that runs smack dab in the center of the speaker whenever it is on. (See attached photo.) But, frankly, that is the only flaw I find with it. The sound quality is decent for an inexpensive speaker. It is nice that it is powered by the monitor so whenever the monitor goes to sleep, the speakers turn off, too. The volume control is nice and it can get quite loud, if needed.Again, if you need inexpensive speakers, this is a very good choice so long as you know you have a Dell monitor that can work with this soundbar.

wow what a great sound bar. I bought the monitor thinking it had built in speakers.....I was wrong. So I went to amazon and found this sound bar for the monitor. Unfortunatley I didn't make sure the power adapter came with it so I had to wait another two days after putting the sound bar on to discover what a great little piece of equipment this is.A few people have said the sound isn't good and its tinny, well not my experience. its perfectly clear and boy is it loud!!!! I daren't turn it up all the way I think I might blow the windows out. I have it barely turned up and its perfect, I can hear it from the other side of the room. Now usually with separate speakers there tends to be a two to three second lag so it looks like your watching a foreign movie that has been dubbed over in English which can be very annoying, there is no lag here at all everything is in perfect sync. I love this sound bar and it sounds awesome.If you have a Dell SR2220L I strongly recommend this sound bar, it looks great it sits flush at the bottom of the monitor and the little light in the middle of it gives it a bit of style, the knob for the sound is descreetly hidden on the side of the sound bar so its barely noticeable. A very nice design in my opinion, and an awesome addition to your monitor.I cant stand those separate speakers that have 400' of stupid wires that you have to untangle and make sure you don't knock them flying or you just think look stupid so you try to hide, they also take up too much desk space in my opinion, but that's me I don't like my desktop with things all over it.A few words of advice though.....make sure you get the power adapter with it, don't do what I did and just order the soundbar, it wont work without it, I can guarantee that. I had to sit and look at mine for 2 extra days before I could finally hear mine working, that's was just my mistake.Anyway I think its awesome and I just love it, it works for me and I'm more than happy I purchased it.

Works as expected.

Surprisingly GOOD for such small speakers ! They're not by any mean HIFI speakers but they do an excellent job without any snap, crakle and pop like those you usually find in cheap computer speakers ! Furthermore, when used with compatible Dell monitors not only you have some brackets to attach the speakers to the monitors but, power alimentation to the speakers also comes from the monitors so, at the same time, with those, you don't really need any external power supply !
