National Hardware N342-832 BB285 Extra Heavy T Hinge in Stainless Steel I made two heavy rain-resistant doors for a renovated tool shed, and attached them using eight of these terrific hinges. See Customer Image. Those new doors weight 100 pounds each, and while two hinges per side would likely have been sufficient, we used four per side -- for appearances and to have a super-strong installation. Door operation is as smooth as silk and silent. I used the #14 1-1/4" (stainless steel) screws included with the hinges on the hinge-outsides and #14 2" stainless flathead screws into the 2" thick doors. The gray material is Azek, which is a pvc product -- the white material is pvc from another maker. The other Customer Image shows that shed before the renovation. The old doors were in bad shape and the non-stainless steel 10" National Hinges were beginning to rust after 13 years). For a perfectly smooth door operation, mount the hinges at an absolutely right-angle to the door, at the exact distance from the door edge for each hinge. I did this by cutting a 7" long piece of 1/2" plywood the precise width I wanted the outside of the hinge to be from the door edge. (Just over 2" for this project.) Double clamped that plywood "jig" flush to a hinge exterior, pushed it against the door frame and drilled the first hole into the door face for a hinge. Use a properly sized centering bit or dent the wood using a centering bit and drill a pilot hole – use a larger bit in each hole for each screw. Oil or wax the screw threads for easier driving. Having the right-sized pilot hole will help prevent wood splitting. Those large door handles are Moen YG2609BN Banbury 9" Bath Grips in brushed nickel.

These hinges replaced the old galvanized ones on my contractor bed. The bed was 20 years old and the galvanized ones were starting to rust and weather. I installed these new ones and they look great and are super sturdy to handle the weight of my tailgate. I did not end up using the included stainless screws as I needed something stronger due to the weight of my tailgate so I went to the local hardware store and grabbed some stainless bolts and nuts and it worked out perfect.

I got tired of soft foreign stainless steel and bough this brand. It was much stronger, high quality, tight connections. It is worth all the extra money you pay for it.

Product arrived as a single hinge and had missing hardware

I skipped all the off-brands and only considered National, a brand I’ve known since I was a kid. These are heavy duty stainless and should outlast the home and crawlspace doors. Screws are included.

These were perfect for our wooden gates we were constructing. Hoping they will hold up well, because we are near brackish water and most things rust quickly. The only drawback is those screws. I used them for other applications, but they will not hold up a heavy door like the ones we were using them for, or if they do, not for long.
