I’ve been a Playtex Sport Super Plus girly for years and years. I have a very heavy flow and those were the only ones that could come close to handling the wrath that my uterus expels every month. UNTIL NOW!! I purchased these out of desperation because I started my period early this month, I didn’t want to brave the stores during the weekend before Christmas, and my normal ones didn’t have same day delivery. When I tell you, I am so bummed I didn’t find these sooner, I mean it. For reference, I worked 10 hours today on day 2 of my period (if you know, you know) and only had to change my tampie twice! And not having an applicator actually makes me feel like I’m doing my part to save the planet. I have read some reviews about problems with the twist off plastic wrapper, but as long as my hands are dry and I haven’t recently been sweating or applied hand lotion, I have found them very easy to open. If you’re trying to decide whether to purchase these, do yourself a favor and just do it!!! You’ll be on here writing a 5-star review just like me.

o.b. Tampons, Ultra, 40 ct, Unscented, no applicator - Ultra is the most absorbent tampon in the o.b. line and is easily identified by its purple color. The tampons are compact and small enough to fit in the smallest pocket of my jeans. Each tampon is individually shrink wrapped and twists to open. No applicator, which reduces waste and makes them more compact. o.b. tampons expand to fit reducing leaks. Have noticed that some of the cotton on the tampons want to separate and pull apart where the string is attached. How to open the shrink wrap has changed in recent years- used to be a tab to pull open, now it twists to break open. The product box has been redesigned and the newer box seems thinner and more flimsy, making it more prone to damage. The older product box design was better. I've trusted and used o.b. brand tampons for years, so I hope they correct the quality control issues.

These work great if you have a heavy flow and wide set vagina.

The only good brand there is and non of this unnecessary waste like others.

I have a hard time using tampons I normally use a menstrual cup or menstrual dis but my periods are too heavy to use right now. Out of all the brands this is the only one that doesn't make me smell like death and is most definitely the most absorbent. I love the fact that they're twist instead of pool on the plastic.

I have used these for over 30 years and I purchased many boxs of the purple high absorbency. This is the first time I have felt so much stress before and during my period. It is a battle to get the plastic open with this new twist feature. I have a clean pocket knife in my home bathroom to open it. At work it takes me wxtra time to open it. Why the change after so many years of perfection? Please go back to the original packaging; we already pay a hefty cost for OB.

I recently moved here and needed something similar to the regular products I use back home. Exactly what I was looking for. Perfect.

For the last 10 years, I'd been using a menstrual cup, and I absolutely loved it - until it started to leak. I loved how eco-friendly it was, but over the last several months, no matter what I tried, I was always experiencing leaks. I had to break up with my cup, unfortunately, and go back to my tried and true o.b. I've always loved these tampons because of their discreet packaging and ease of insertion. They keep me protected, with ZERO leaks. I miss using my cup - but I miss worry-free periods more. So happy that Amazon has the Ultra absorbency - it's so hard to find these in store!
