The Truth About Stacey: A Graphic Novel (The Baby-Sitters Club #2): Full-Color Edition (The Baby-Sitters Club Graphix)

Very good, nice story and character. I prefer the little sisters, but these are good so far. We will probably read all of these

I read all the Baby-sitter's clubs when I was a little girl and loved them. Strong young women, age-appropriate challenges. Overall super. We now have all the graphic novel versions for our kids, including our nine year old boy who likes them and our seven year old girl. I don't suggest getting only graphic novels for kids - I think there is something to reading a book with sentences arranged in a traditional way - but nonetheless the Baby-Sitters Club graphic novels are well done and have helped to foster a love of reading and books in our home. It has actually resulted in the kids reading the older versions that I have from when I was little. The kid's liked getting to know about Stacey, that she was from New York (where they have visited), and I thought it was good for them to learn about Stacey's health problems to help them understand that people are different. They were able to relate it to some kids in their school who have health challenges. This one was illustrated by Raina Telgemeier and the kids like her a lot and have some of her other books. Some of the later BSC books are not illustrated by her and kids preferred her style, but like them all really.

This book is one of my favorite books in the series and I like every thing about it the only thing I would change is the cover I don't understand why Stacy is in the corner and all the other club members are together because the only fight that happened was laine and Stacy so why is she all the way back there?? Also Smoking really this (book because of that) is for kids/tween/teens 10 and up. Other than that I really loved this book and I would definitely read it again.

A must read for anyone with type 1 diabetes, or who knows someone with type 1 diabetes, or who likes to read a great book. I was driving when my 8 year old daughter announced that "Stacy has type 1 too, mom!" "Who is Stacy?" I asked her. "Stacy, the babysitter..." she replied. I started to tell her she didn't have a sitter named Stacy when I realized she was talking about the book she was reading, The Truth about Stacy. How cool! My daughter has type 1 diabetes and had found a heroine who she could really relate to! We got other BSC books from the old series to read (not the graphic novels), but they hadn't been updated the way the versions Raina Telgemeier illustrated and adapted. Kudos to Raina, who took the time to learn about type 1 and make sure the information was up to date and accurate.

My 8 year old loves the Baby Sitters Club Series. I wanted her to get into reading so I was looking for graphic novels to get her interested and encourage her into more reading.

My 13 year old recently discovered this series and loves both the printed and comic version.

Great book

今回はライバルとなる年上のベビーシッターが登場し そことのトラブルがいろいろあるようで。。。 そして毎回４人のうち一人にスポットを当ててるみたいで、 今回はステイシーという女の子です。 病気のことや喧嘩別れした友達とのことがテーマです。 話は面白く読み進められます。 少女達なりにそれぞれの悩みなどが「あ～そんなこともあったなぁ～」と 懐かしい気持ちになりました。 世代がちょうどの子なら共感するようなことが たくさんあるのでは。 よく見かける英会話教本よりもリアルな英会話を学べる感じがして良かったです。 「へぇ～。こんな時そんな風に言うんだぁ～」みたいに。 絵と一緒に読み進めてゆけるので文だけの英会話本よりも記憶にとどまり易かったです。 絵はシンプルだけど子供たちの表情はかわいらしいし、カラフルで見ていて楽しかったです。 読んでいる間なんだか自分もアメリカのとある町にいるような気分になれて それも読んでいて楽しかったひとつです。 早く次が読みたくなる♪
