Navajas - Premium Razor Clams in Brine

Here in the U.S we don't really think too much about canned fish beyond sardines and tuna. But in other countries they are often a high quality ingredient.Since I'm from the PNW and can dig my own razor clams I was curious about partly because razor clamming seasonal and not all the easy. These are cleaned, and cooked well, not overly cooked to the point of being rubber bands.They're good plane on toast or over past or sprinkled with a little olive oil and viengar.

But these are pretty good! I'm a fan of canned fish/muscles and these have a pretty intense sea flavor. I ended up hitting the 2nd half of the clams with some malt vinegar, and did not regret it - it kinda smoothed out the intense flavor, and really just made the clams delicious. Buy again? Probably - they are pricey, but a nice treat

Love razor clams. Was looking for a more affordable option. This was good but I did fond a little bit of sand in one of them. Probably won’t purchase again bc of this reason unless I’m desperate.

In the past, I have always had steamed razor clams. These were, shall we say, interesting? I probably will not get them again, but that is probably just me.

You can definitely taste the quality, but these are ridiculously expensive. If your goal is to make chowder or any type of soup I would say these are not worth the price since they are only marginally tastier than your typical supermarket canned clams that are like 15 dollars cheaper. If you want some fancy clams go for it, but I'll say there are MUCH better options for fancy canned seafood on amazon to splurge on!

Delicious! Not salty at all like you would expect from canned food. It was an unexpected delight to my palate.

Tasty and well preserved

I got these just out of curiosity. I love most clams and other types of seafood. But I had never tried razor clams. Texture is a little rubbery. Some grit. Not much taste.
