Yep it works.
Friend of mine borrowed my game boy like what 20 years ago. I had forgotten about it and then in the process of moving he found it and returned it to me without the cord. Not hating pretty extraordinary to have it returned 20 years later with or without the cord. This charger works just fine as far as I can tell.
