Scosche FD1422B Compatible with Select 2001-05 Ford / Lincoln / Mercury DIN w/Molded Pocket Dash Kit Black

This dash kit work great. The reason for 4 out of 5 stars is because I installed in a 2005 ford explorer and where next to the bolt holes are peg mounting holes. They were too small for the pegs in the dash. I had to use a drill and make them a little bigger. Other than that it worked perfect!

Bought this replace my stock stereo with a new one. Did its job. Fit perfect.Quick side note: If you have the mach stereo system and you are trying to replace it (yourself) you need a special wiring harness, not the kind that you get at the store and Mickey Shore didn't even have it in stock. Order it online or you'll be bummed when you pull your stereo out and you don't have what you need. Since the premium sound system has an amp and subs, it has a different wire harness. Don't pay Mickey Shore to do it ( I did ) they just electrical tape a bunch of wires together and my back 2 speakers still don't work right. Its an easy DIY if you have the right wiring harness. the unit I got was warped. The storage bin that attaches to the main bracket was much more narrow in the center than it was in the corners (cheap molding). This caused the main bracket to sag when the bin was attached and would have made the finished installation look like crap had I not fixed it. I had to heat and wedge the plastic to get it close enough to 2part epoxy it to the main bracket. I also wasn't much of a fan of the rear support bracket, as there is no way to tell where it needs to be set without some trial and error (that's not really the kits fault). After I was finished with the installation, everything looked great, but I lost hours in straightening the bin out.

fits 2001 mustang well.the storage area below is kinda worthless unless you have small hands or the item your placing in there sticks out some so you can reach it

It fit my 04 mustang perfectly but it is very confusing to put the rear radio mount on. I couldnt figure out how to do so. The square clip that fits around the radio keeps coming out of the dash kit as well which make the radio slide through the front. With some work i can make it stay but i wish it had better instructions, and more support for radios to stay put. other than that it was great.

This is by far the best and easiest kit I've used! It was listed for 01-03 Mustang fittiment.Well, that's correct! It took me about 5 minutes to mount the new radio, it used all the same mounting guides.It even looks like it came with the car when it was new!If you have an early 2000 Mustang and want a face plate for a radio, this is the way to go!It's also inexpensive to get. Trying a universal mounting kit would not look as good, plus with this, there's no cutting or filing needed!

Works just fine for my 2005 Ford Explorer. Plastic is a bit cheap, and the pocket is quite small, and almost useless, but it serves its purpose. I'd definitely recommend getting a double DIN head unit for your Explorer, but I already had this one so it was easier to just do this.

This worked very well. I wish that it was metal instead of plastic but it works well. I wish I could choose the location of the Cd Storage pocket, it would have been nice to have it on top but not a big deal.
