The Waterway Plastics Renegade Skimmer Float Valve is exactly what I needed for my short-term rental pool! Installation was easy, and it fit perfectly, just like the original. The quality is great, and it keeps the water flow consistent, which is especially important since I need my pool to stay clean for guests. The float valve fit perfectly and was a better buy than from the local pool supply store. Delivery was quick. It has been working for months and I can't complain.

Replaced a 25 year old unit. Works great to prevent air from impacting the water flow if the waterline drops. If the water level drops this seals the pool return line automatically allowing the pump to circulate the water. I explain because our pool technician did not know what it was. LOL

If your pool uses one of these, it's a very important part to keep in your skimmer basket. Many pool owners—or anyone unfamiliar with the pool's plumbing—may remove it without realizing what it does. This device regulates the suction between the skimmer and the main (bottom) drain. You can adjust it to send more suction to the skimmer, more to the bottom drain, or anywhere in between, depending on your pool's needs. If it's removed, the main drain may lose suction altogether. Not every pool is designed this way. I've owned two pools, and only one used this type of setup. In my current pool, the main drain connects through the skimmer, so this part is essential for proper circulation. I actually helped someone whose pool had turned green because they removed this piece when vacuuming the pool. It was misplaced and never reinstalled, so the main drain wasn't circulating water properly. If you look in your skimmer basket and see two pipes but only one has suction, there's a good chance you're missing this part. It's inexpensive, easy to overlook, and can make a big difference in how well your pool circulates and stays clean.
