Works great! Good battery.

The great mystery is why anyone would conclude that this battery is not a genuine Sony battery. It could not be more obvious that it is. I can't rule out the possibility that Amazon somehow bought a batch of counterfeit batteries at some point and was selling them unknowingly. That is possible I supposed, but it is not particularly likely, and even if it happened, it did not continue for very long. The packaging is exactly the same as the packaging you see for this battery anywhere else, to include the retail shelf at BB. And there aren't any visible differences between this battery and the battery than came with my NEX-7. As for the price markdown, it is apparent that Sony permits on-line retailers to sell this battery at a discounted price, that Sony specifies, because there are many on-line retailers who sell this battery, and they all sell it for the same price. The only way that could occur is if Sony tells them that they can sell it at a discount, and tells them the specific amount at which they are permitted to sell it. The fact that this is clearly taking place is further compelling evidence that this is a genuine Sony battery. And the package has the special holographic security strip, that shows the Sony logo only if you hold it at the required angle relative to the light. There just isn't any reason for anyone to think that this is not the real deal. It could hardly be any more obvious that it is the real deal. But, if you prefer, you can go buy it at BB instead and pay twice as much for it.

Took forever to charge but it's doing well so far. I think it will hold up better than the cheaper options.

What else can I say but that it's a good battery even after a year of use.

I purchased the sony battery for my Sony A6000 camera. Previously I purchased "Off brand" batteries and they lost their ability to hold a charge after several uses. My original battery was the sony and that seemed to last much longer so I am back to sony. I gave 4 stars due to price. It cost 2-3 times what the other batteries cost. It is a lot of money for a single battery. So far it is hold a charge and working better, but I'll see how it does over time.

I purchased these Sony brand NP-FW50 Lithium Ion batteries for my Sony DSC-10 (3) through Amazon at a better than local retail prices. These Sony batteries actually fit and lock into the battery compartment. I've recently purchased Kastar, Arche, and Bonacell NP-FW50 batteries (not through Amazon) and none of these batteries fit. They're all 2-3 mm too long to fit securely in the battery compartment so the camera wouldn't operate. Some of these same non-Sony brand batteries are also offered through Amazon and the price is attractive. Buyer Beware! Very pleased with the Sony brand batteries.

Sony batteries are well made and works well in my Sony cameras. I can use one battery all day while taking pictures.
