GRANDKIDDOS LOVED IT!
Our 9 year-old twin granddaughters really enjoyed this movie as did our 12 year-old grandson. This is quite amazing since they seem to have the mindset that if the movie didn't come out within the past couple of months or so it wouldn't be worth watching. And people talk about older folks being set in their ways! This is the second or third time we've gifted them with movies that we had especially enjoyed previously, and they've totally surprised themselves (and us) by actually liking them. As for myself, I enjoyed watching the movie with them every bit and maybe even more than I did when watching it way back when the first time around.

Excellent movie
First off, the dvd came in excellent condition, still in it's clear wrappings and stuff. One thing I will say and warn is that sometimes, the audio gets a little out of sync (which becomes more apparent towards the end of the movie). The thing that remedied it for me was I used the Digital 2.0 audio instead of 5.1 on the setup screen. So if you run into that issue, give that a shot. Otherwise, great film, one of my favorites since childhood.

Region free, plays on any blue ray player
No restrictions, plays anywhere, love the special features, I wish the 2nd movie had a commentary as well. Great movie, really underappreciated, especially considering when it was made. This is 1 disc, I'm not sure why the packaging looks like it says 2 disc?

Love Johnnie 5!
Talk about a blast from the past! I have been telling my little ones about this movie for a while and finally decided to look it up. Great deal and I'm so thrilled that my littles enjoyed it as much as I did when I was younger! Side note: there is a fair amount of cussing, even though it is rated PG. Mostly sh*t, but it was enough for my 5 year old to notice. I guess the ratings weren't as strict back then as they are now.

So many familiar one liners - you will be amazed at how many we use today!
Watch several times so you don't miss any of the clever one liners in this movie. Many I say when being goofy.:"You're mama was a snow-blower"! I love having fun and watching movies; they lift and enlighten my spirits when I need to forget the badness in life. Girl can't help it!

Good Family Fare, But...
This should be a suitable film for most but there are a number of problems which would influence its acceptability for certain groups. It does not have subtitles for the hearing impaired. Happily, this is made in the old-fashioned way, all the speaking is articulated and given the volume to be understood by anyone who is not in the more serious categories of hearing impairment. Still in all, no DVD made in recent decades should have been deficient in this respect. For some in the potential audience, who are extremely conservative (in a social not political sense), the language will, on occasion, be over the line of propriety. I do not think this is true for the larger segment of the public but these people should be aware of the problem so as to avoid, what to them, is an impropriety. One reviewer mentions some language bothersome to their religious sensibilities, I did not notice this, but potential watcher beware. For myself, it was a movie that, as they say, kids of all ages, could enjoy (with that pleasure, of course, diminishing in inverse proportion to their actual age). It is the theme of Pinocchio. Wizard of Oz, and who knows how many other classic stories, becoming human through the induction of certain characteristics. The robotetry (after puppetry and similar words) was quite well done, the good guys (and gal) suitably nice, and the villains suitably villainous. While much is simple minded slapstick, physical and verbal, as the use of the Three Stooges clips remind the adults watching, this is what kids get a kick out of .At any rate, with the exceptions I point out, this is a young peoples movie which allows the adult to sit in without an eyeshade and ear plugs.

Wonderful movie
Enjoyed this movie when it first came out in theaters and to be honest haven't given it much thought since that time. Found it again while searching for another title and had to have it. This is a wonderful movie for all age groups and fun to watch. It arrived very quickly and was in the exact condition that the seller advertised.

Horrible Video quality, No Subtitles or Closed Captioning
I think I will send this back, Image Entertainment should have done a better job with this DVD. Low quality video, aspect is horrible, Just BAD! No Subtitles or Closed Captioning, It DID exist then. IE was just too cheap to include it.

I love this classic movie & I was very pleased to now be able to get it on BR DISC . This is one of those mid 1980s classics that is still great 30+ years later
