Gazpacho for Nacho

Get it!
This book is adorable, I love that it uses both Spanish and English words (mostly English) and there’s a translation glossary of terms in the back and a recipe for gazpacho. I loved it so much that I bought it for my friend’s kids who had an interest in learning Spanish, too! They even got more books from the same author afterward. I def recommend for any reader- even if your family doesn’t speak another language, bc it introduces other cultures in a fun way.

It’s a hit!
This book has easily become my 4 year olds favorite book!! It’s funny, rhymes, and is bilingual. My son has already memorized parts and when I pause he will finish the sentence. A great story with a recipe attached in the back of the book. We will be making gazpacho one of these days!

Making food exciting in two languages!
This book was love at first read. Nacho refuses to eat anything but gazpacho until he learns the joys of cooking. The clever rhyme takes a bilingual approach with captivating visuals for context. For instance, when shopping for “tomates”, Nacho is shown climbing a mountain of tomatoes, elevating the task of getting groceries to exciting new heights. After learning how to make his beloved gazpacho, Nacho vows to become a true “cocinero”. Great for redefining gender roles, but also a recipe for a really fun read.

¡Sabroso!
This is a wonderful story about a boy who only wants to eat gazpacho. In telling the story the most common Spain Spanish foods are introduced. Key words are presented in English & Spanish, along with a recipe for gazpacho. My grandson (5) loved this book! I am a Spanish teacher and love that he loves learning Spanish words and culture!

Best book ever!
This is the cutest book I have ever read. I bought this for my sister's baby shower because she asked for everyone to bring a book, but I didn't want my book to be repeated so I looked for Spanish book. I love the Spanish language and this book eases into learning spanish. Every sentence has a random spanish word in it that rhymes with the next line. I loved the theme of the book! At the end of the book there is a recipe where you can make your own gazpacho. There is also a glossary to look up the spanish words. This would be a great book for a Spanish teacher in elementary school to use or if you want to teach your kid about different types of food and cultures. I could go on and on about how much I love this book, that I am considering writing the author a letter about how great this is!! My family is not even Spanish and we all thoroughly enjoyed this book. The illustrations were also really cute!

Fun book for introducing Spanish words to kids and parents!
This book is the perfect length for a bedtime story. It has a great rhyming pattern that flows into a fun rhythm. It works well to introduce Spanish words to little learners while also teaching (or reminding) parents! There's a simple recipe for Gazpacho at the end, followed by a dictionary so you can reference as needed during reading or after as a summary of the new vocabulary.Fun book that will become part of our nightly storytime rotation!

Cute story
This was a very cute story. It's funny, I relate to the mom. It's like this kid is just like my little one. Super picky!!! The rhyming didn't hit a bunch of snags. Nothing worse than getting your cadence while reading to your kid, only to trip on your tongue when you get to a word that doesn't fit the rhyme. It was also very nice of the author to leave a recipe at the end for curious little chefs.

Tasty
A beautifully illustrated book that uses poetry but also a Spanish flare to the words. A great way to learn a little Spanish and also get a tasty recipe whilst reading an interesting story. Nacho has a way with words and an interesting personality.

Not possible to read!
Downloaded this book to read with my child. The book is not compatible with my Kindle. I can open it in my Kindle app on the phone but the writing is so small I struggle to read it.What's the point of offering this book free if we can't really read it? Very disappointed.

Beautifully written and illustrated bilingual yummy story
We enjoyed it as a family. We felt a personal connection because we are bilingual Spanish-English family, love gazpacho and cooking in general, and my LO said the child is like him that also adventured into cooking and new foods. We enjoyed a bowl of gazpacho that same day!
