Broan-NuTone S0503B000 Bathroom Fan Motor Assembly

Perfect replacement! Watched you tube video to replace. Easy 10 minure project! Also replaced grill and lens cover at same time! Works and looks like new!

None of the big box stores or even local stores had this particular model for a fan and fan motor combo replacement. So glad Amazon had it! It was built to the exact same specifications as the original and was an exact fit. Had the old one swapped out and the new one put in less than two minutes. This is the model that has a light fixture attached below it (hence the long bolt). Make sure that you keep the wing nut though from the original light fixture and outside cover attachment as this fan motor set does not come with a new wing nut (to secure it once the light fixture has been slid in a deposition through the bolt). The new fan works great and is nice and quiet compared to the old one that wasn’t working well and eventually burnt out the old motor.

Happy with this product and glad that I chose to pay a little more and get the actual brand name assembly. Like a glove and works quietly and operates well.

Perfect fit and only takes a couple of minutes to install. The wing nut is pretty flimsy but I had a better one that fit by chance.

It took maybe 15 minutes to swap the old one out with this one, start to finish. It fit like it should, same size as the old one. It's way quieter, even when the previous one was brand new, I can barely hear it over the shower. The squirrel cage has about 2/3 fewer fins than the old one and the fins aren't supported near the motor. The original motor drew 2 amps, moved 70 cfm (cubic feet per minute) of air and had a noise level of 3.0 sones. This replacement draws 1.0 amps and that's the only specs I could find. I suspect that it moves less air per minute. I have a tiny bathroom and it's sufficient to keep the mirror from steaming up while I shower. While looking for more specs on this (searching by Amazon fan model number), it seems there are variations on this number. Electric Motor Warehouse lists it as 1.4 amps and says it's for the "A" unit. McCombs Supply has this same number (listed at 1.0 amps) and a price of $21.15 (a little more that $2 less than I paid, but not sure on shipping costs). McCombs also lists the "B" unit fan which is the exact replacement for mine, the S0504B000, which is 2.0 amp, 3.0 sones and 70 CFM. On the McCombs site, the stamping on this fan says 50 CFM and 2.5 sones and 1.4 amps. On the Electric Motor Warehouse site they list both the S0504B000 and the S0503B000, and the S0504B000 has a counter clockwise rotation and the S0503B000 rotates clockwise. Now I'm thinking I should have done more research BEFORE I bought. Buyers be forewarned and do comparisons, for some applications this is not the right fan, it may work, but it's not the right one. This doesn't reflect on the quality of this fan, and I dinged it one star because it is listed as a replacement for my model number and it isn't a true replacement. It works but it's not a exact replacement.

After researching other fan motors this was by far the best choice it was a exact replacement for the original which made installation a breeze . The fan motor and wheel were already assembled and the cfm rating was the same as the original . The old fan was about 20 yrs old and was making all kinds of noise . The new fan is very quiet and works fantastic. Great price for the assembly compared to other retailers. t

When my bathroom fan starting making incredibly loud plane-taking-off-noises (and the fact that I couldn't just have the light on as it's a light/fan combo on one switch), I had to decide to try to fix it, or take showers by candlelight. Let me first state that I'm NOT that handy - I can put up shelving pretty well (I can make things pretty level, and the shelves rarely collapse later on), but I'm timid around electrical components. First, I went to try to clean this thing out - I turned off the breaker and then took apart a few screws to expose the fan - it was incredibly dusty. I cleaned it the best I could and then reassembled it (disassembly and reassembly took no longer than 10 minutes combined). Alas, after initially noticing an improvement, it soon reverted to headache inducing noise. So, I took it apart again and this time took photos of the model and serial number. I pulled up the info on Amazon and was pleased to see that replacement fans that looked exactly like mine were available - and at 1/10th of the cost of having the thing replaced by a professional. So, I ordered it, received it two days later thanks to my prime membership, and installed it in about 5 minutes. And Hallelujah it worked with no terrible noise! At one point I had to slightly readjust the whole fitting (with my bare hand) to minimize some vibration, but all is well now. I'm surprised (Pleasantly) that this was readily available and so easy to install. If you're nervous about dealing with this type of stuff, I'm telling you that if I can do it, and if you have even just a tiny bit of handyman ability, you can also do it.

We had been searching in all the stores for this replacement motor. Unfortunately we have been told that the model has been discontinued and we will need to replace the whole unit, which would’ve been such a pain. We were so happy that this was available and was so easy to install. Love that it works perfectly and even quieter than our original one.

An exact replacement of my existing model. As long as you check the model number, this seems to be exactly what you'd expect. Very easy to put in as a replacement motor.

After 15 years, my current fan sounded like a wraith screaming from a transdimensional rift in my bathroom ceiling. I tried to fix it with some holy water and 3 in 1 electric motor oil, but after a day or two the screams returned. Luckily I found this on Amazon. It dropped in perfectly and is a fair bit quieter than old one was near the end. If you need it, buy it...I believe the part is discontinued. This should last until I too enter the rift.

This is an original replacement for sure, perfect quality. I originally bought the unit because of a loud vibration. Unfortunately, it was not the motor but the lamp housing cover not sitting very well. The original was over 10 years old so I didn’t mind keeping the new unit anyways. Install was very easy. I would definitely recommend if you have this unit and need a replacement motor and fan unit.
