Stunning Stitches for Crazy Quilts: 480 Embroidered Seam Designs, 36 Stitch-Template Designs for Perfect Placement

I received this book a couple of weeks ago, and I politely beg to differ with the review that says these are machine stitches. While my top of the line sewing machine has stitches that look like some of these, I can tell by the stitches and the weight of the thread used that these are hand stitches. I am a serious crazy quilter, and I have several of Kathy's books and have taken her classes. I use her books and templates on a regular basis. While I have almost every book out there on crazy quilting, Kathy's books are the ones I use the most. This one does not disappoint!! It is full of wonderful ideas!!! The above picture is a crazy quilt block I'm working on right now, and just about all the seams are done using ideas from Kathy's books and templates. I took it to show to my hand embroidery group last week, and everyone there was going to get this book. Thank you, Kathy, for another wonderful book!!!!

This book is a wealth of ideas for almost any decorative stitch that you would use as a running pattern. I don't do quilting but this book has ideas that can be used for the ends of towels or collars and cuffs. Would also be great on the skirt of little girls dress.The book does come with template pages that you must scan and then print onto vellum or acetate. That is great, but then trying to punch the holes (you will need 1/16 punch) is very difficult. I ruined several sheets of vellum because I didn't get the punch centered on the dot. That is the point of the templates is to keep even spacing between stitches as well as the same height.I saw where this company was selling the templates pre-made but they always seem to be sold out.

Returning this book of nice photos, but useful information imo mostly to those with a sewing machine and ability to have the machine stitch these seams. I believe you could find similar information online for free.

Beautiful book! Well illustrated, instructions complete (as well as clever idea for stitching templates), and sensibly organized. One reviewer criticized it for needing a machine for stitching seams - none of these stitches needs a machine, they are all hand sewn. Assorted threads, beads, ribbon, buttons, the creativity goes on and on. I will be using many of these stitches to embellish a Rose of Sharon appliqué quilt.

This book is my favorite of all the Crazy Quilting books I own.The stitching templates are great and easy to copy to plastic sheets to use as individual rulers when marking the seams for decorative stitch placement. I love the combination stitches pictured in the book . . . so many ideas for my seam designs. All decorative stitching is done by hand - not machine. This author is amazing . . both in writing this book and in the online classes she offers. Highly Recommended to anyone interested in Crazy Quilting.

This is the best book I have found for stitches. Soooo many stitch combinations in this book. Has a large section covering different stitch patterns. Good pictures and illustrations. Good instructions on using thread and ribbon. Has a neat chapter on how to achieve perfect alignment of stitches. I have another book on crazy quilt stitching, which is a good one, too, but I really like this one.

Love the book. Love the idea of templates for different stitches. Love it so much that I'm going to see if i can get it for my kindle. If ypu are into or trying to learn abput crazy quilting and stitching, this is a must to add to your collection.

Overall, this is a beautiful book with beautiful stitches. However there is a whole section of photographed designs with absolutely no instruction on how to make the designs or even which section to go to as a reference. Nothing! This is a basic flaw with this book and I do not recommend buying it.

I was looking forward to receiving this book and I absolutely loved it! I teach people sewing, mending and also creative sewing and I love mixed media embroidery as well. This book is well structured, beautiful photos, templates and explanations. I will never regret I got it and definitely would recommend it! I know that I will have many many hours ahead spent on creating beautiful things that I will wear with pride. Thank you!

Beautiful book with a huge amount of content and explanation to those who want to embroider and embellish their patchwork as well as any embroidery piece. Well worth having as a reference book for all types of embroidery projects.

Every idea was explained with charts and stitch templates. The author even responded to my questions. What a super talented lady she is and generous enough to care about people who purchase her book.

Brilliant book - some lovely ideas which I'm using to create my greetings cards. I also bought the templates which had to be bought from the author in USA @ £25 however carriage and import duties doubled the cost. No regrets they are brilliant to use.

Delightful book, eye candy for stitch combinations. Practical templates to download and print on recommended vellum, then punch out.
