Animal Essentials Sea-Dent for Dog Teeth - Dental Powder for Dogs & Cats Teeth & Gums, Natural Oral Formula for Plaque & Tartar, Bad Breath Oral Freshener & Cleaner - 2.5 oz

I was skeptical because I had given my dog a different brand of dental powder for about four weeks and it didn't work. That one had kelp and a probiotic plus other ingredients. My dog's breath wasn't good and didn't seem to change at all during use. Then I tried Sea-Dent, which also has kelp as one of the active ingredients. Lo and behold, after a couple of weeks my dog's breath was no longer noticeable, even close-up! Frankly, I was pretty shocked. I had almost given up on these powders after my first experience with that other brand. I'm so glad I didn't. What's even better is that the scoop is less than half the size of the other brand I had tried. I give my dog one scoop per day, which is the recommended dose for a 55-lb. dog like mine. At that rate the container will last well over two months, making this a great value! I feed my dog dry food only, twice per day, morning and afternoon. I give him Sea-Dent with his second feeding (see photo). He definitely has no problem with the smell, taste, or texture of the powder and might even like the taste. It seems easy for him to digest. But then I also give him Purina FortiFlora which has normalized his digestion. I would be sold on this product just for its positive effect on my dog's breath, but the bonus is that it also cleans his teeth. I don't see much tartar build-up at all, so if his teeth stay that way, I'll be happy. For the low cost this comes out to per month, I think Sea-Dent is well worth it and I'll be buying more!

I've used this product for at least 2 to 3 years and so far it works quite well. It keeps the teeth free of tartar and keeps them nice and white. It does help with the breath. I add a little something else to help with that but so far this has been a good product. I would recommend it, especially if you're starting out with a young dog to keep the teeth clean. Having to pull teeth later on in life and dental cleaning is very costly. It is my opinion. If you start off with this product early in life, perhaps you can avoid those costly dental bills.

I bought this Product Animal Essentials for both of my small dogs after having Dentals done on them both. It appears to be doing at good job of keeping their teeth clean BUT UNFORTUNATELY they must be allergic to something in this because BOTH Gurls itch, scratch, and bite their paws constantly afterwards…..I’m discontinuing using this.

My older dog has terrible breath, even after paying tons of money for a veterinary dental cleaning. This made a NOTICEABLE difference right after the first use, incredible! I give it to my dogs in the evening after meals and treats are done for the day, and sprinkle the dose on a little dollop of yogurt or coconut oil on a lick mat, so it’s like a little “dental dessert” and actually gets spread around in their mouths (which I don’t think sprinkling in their food would do as well) Giving it to my dogs this way has been highly effective at freshening their breath, and I have noticed a visible reduction in tartar build up as well.

I wish it was a better color... My dog doesn't mind it. ^^

Years ago a board certified veterinary dentist recommended this to me. It does work and keeps my dogs' teeth staying clean with minimal tartar. This has kept teeth just as clean or cleaner than daily brushing did and it is a whole lot easier to sprinkle on their food than brushing too. My dogs' teeth were in good shape and pretty clean when I first started using this- and this helps keep them this way. It definably does help prevent tarter build up. My dogs do not require professional dental cleanings using this. I can't speak to how well it works if started when a dog's teeth are already in need of cleaning. My dogs do not seem to mind the taste either. I just sprinkle this on their food. I even used this when I fed raw.

Very effective and affordable. I've been using for only 2 days and both my dogs swollen red gum and bad smell issues are pretty much gone away. Super easy to use as I top it on their food. They have no issue with the powder smell or taste. The tartar is still there but we'll see how it goes when using for a longer time.
