Though it's a step stool and fine for that purpose, for me it fills another essential niche. Every summer my wife and I plant a dozen or so new plants in ceramic pots in our back yard. That's a lot of dirt-scooping labor, which I used to perform sitting on my buttocks on my concrete patio, or on the grass. You can't really do it in a chair, since you'd be bending over and reaching down too far. But sitting on the concrete or grass (especially wet grass) isn't all that fun. I'd been looking for a long time for something like this, which is higher than most footstools, sturdy, lightweight, and has a nice smooth surface to sit on. I checked all the local garden and home improvement stores -- no luck, so I'm glad I found this. It's useful for a variety of outdoor tasks, whenever you don't want to bend over, but don't want to sit on the ground. I was so pleased I ordered a second one a day or two later.

I purchased this step-stool for my fiancée due to the fact that she is very petite and has trouble reaching the top shelves in the kitchen cabinets. Since receiving this stool, she's been using it constantly and absolutely loves it! It's fine quality and does exactly what it's supposed to. She's been very happy with is thus far, and would certainly recommend to anyone in need of a handle stool for getting to those hard-to-reach areas!

I got this so my 2 and 3 year old kids could better reach the sink. It's a great height - higher than other step stools, so that they can turn the water on and off and get to the soap by themsleves.However, it's not quite as sturdy as I would like for kids - I would still buy this stool again, but I wish I could have found one that was super-sturdy and kid-proof. I just make sure to always be with them in case they do tip it over. ( I don't have that worry with other step stools, but those aren't high enough for them to reach the sink - so I guess it's pick you problem).I would still recommend this stool.

I've wanted one of these stools for a while, and finally ordered it. Boy, am I glad I did! It can live in my kitchen and make my top cabinet shelves accessible, again! It's a bit wider at the bottom than the top, so it's very stable. No wiggling or shifting, which would make me uncomfortable.

My aunt had knee surgery and needed help hopping in and out of bed. The stool she had would slip on her wood floors and did not have non skid material on the top. I got this one and it's great for her needs. It holds a fairly heavy person (about 200 lbs) without feeling like it's going to give way, and like I mentioned, it is nice and grippy. It's not the cutest thing ever, but it does a good job doing what you've bought it to do!

I have a few plastic step stools including the collapsable type. This one is by far the one myself and my family prefers. Nonslip and sturdy.It IS red on top unlike the picture, Rubbermaid should really fix that. I actually like the red better but you should get the product pictured nonetheless. Great stool, spend the extra few bucks and get this one.

This stool is a very stable size and quality. I am a 5'6" 140 lb woman and feel that this stool would hold a much larger person quite stably. The feet are spread nice and wide and the firmness of the material is very strong. I expect this stool will be around for many years. Btw, it has a non slip material on the top of the step that adds to the stability of not slipping off.

This is a sturdy yet lightweight step tool. It is just one step but taller than many other step stools. I like the way there is so much space at the top to stand on. The skid resistant texture on the top and skid resistant feet keep the stool and your feet in place. Recommended!
