Viking Ek39 Thermostat(Self Clean) Part Pb010186

Most of this commentary is about Viking and not the spare thermostat. I bought this to replace my thermostat which had its shaft snapped off by a stepladder while cleaning the hood. This part is an identical replacement. Rather then replace the entire thermostat assembly and probe, I just removed the 2 screws on the new part that hold the shaft to the body and swapped that little bit out on my oven. On the plus side, my oven is fixed. On the negative side, I'm out $238. On the plus side, if you are unlucky enough to have to service a Viking oven, this was about as easy as it gets. On the negative side, I now have a perfectly good thermostat without a shaft. I really wish these fragile pieces were available a la carte. I guess I'll just keep the replacement thermostat in stock for the day when it eventually breaks, like just about everything else on this oven.

so the old one broke, the knob had been loose for a long time, finally let go. had to take it out to look for a part #, found out amazon had it cheaper than every other appliance supply place. figured out how to install it by taking stuff apart until it became apparent, lol. i didnt even want to imagine how much a Viking repairman would have charged!

Thermostat stop working after 40 days. Spend over $200 . Only 30 days return from purchase.May be selling old parts or defective. Do not recommend to buy from this seller

Fit great. Just leave yourself plenty of time for repair. I got it done in a few hours, had to take a part most of the oven to get in in correctly. Don't cut corners and you should be fine.

The thermostat was as advertised.
