Great device... I believe this measurement correlates to your GKI!
Okay, I got it in and used it the last 3 mornings, along side my Glucose and Ketone numbers (from my blood tests). Where is what I noticed right away... This appears to represent a number closer to Glucose Ketone Index (GKI). In the USA, GKI = Glucose/18/Ketones (rest of the world usually does Glucose/Ketones). That number is generally thought of as your metabolic level of utilizing ketones. Above 6: Nothing Special 3-6: Maintenance (of weight, etc) 0-3: Weight loss The closer to 1 is very therapeutic. I test my glucose/ketones and generate my GKI every morning. I do a lot of fasting, and have gotten numbers are low as 0.6 and 0.8 (meaning I am REALLY in deep ketosis, and utilizing a lot of ketones). so, for the last 3 days, here are my my numbers AND my PPM from this AWESOME Tool: 6.42 GKI => 7.2 ppm 3.14 GKI => 15 ppm (6.42/3.14 ~2 -> Doubling of PPM) Nice, this PREDICTED about a 30 reading for the next one 1.25 GKI => 41 ppm This is what I got! WOW! I will continue to track this. 15ppm and higher is weight loss, 30 or higher is therapeutic (based on how these are tying together) So, at 150 for 300 readings, this machine costs you 50 cents/reading. A Bargain, because testing BOTH costs my 1.34 (without the Keto-Mojo Cost). After 300 uses, you send it in, and I was told that for $30, they replace the sensor, recalibrate, and return the device to you.. That reduces the FUTURE costs to 10 CENTS. A Massive savings. And no blood draws. I truly believe if we can correlate these numbers to the GKI (which makes sense), then this is actually a much easier device to use and carry with you. you do lose some information, like your blood glucose levels, but honestly, THIS is the number to track. Now, I am going to start testing/comparing against my daughter as well. To see if her numbers are different. The simple fact that these numbers are even CLOSE to the relationship I predicted based on GKI is awesome! Why should they track? Because it can't track your serum (blood) numbers. Those numbers represent the MIX of fuel that is available. But the GKI attempts to estimate EITHER Insulin as a proxy (lower GKI means less insulin), or your metabolic flexibility+fat burning. In the second mode, the lower the glucose the more dependent on burning fat you are. THAT is where there seems to be a correlation to this measurement. Now, the GKI values may not match perfectly at the same numbers, but I believe it might. Anyways, this device is definitely worth getting. I find it easier to use than the ketonix and I get more reliable readings out of this. Very Impressed!

Accurate, reliable and easy to use
I have been on the Keto diet for 13 months and I used the urine strips in the beginning and they were very useful in guiding me. I was hesitant in moving on to the blood strip because of the cost of the strips. So when I saw the Ketoscan with some good reviews I figure is was worth the try as the company is established making alcohol breathalyzers. My first Ketoscan on Tuesday evening scan was 7.2 (proper level of ketosis) which was encouraging as I basically do not eat any dedicated carbs other than yogurt and get my carbs from my veggies and protein. I was fairly confident I was doing well on keto but it was very encouraging to have that quantified as I am adverse to counting macros and calories. My second scan on Tuesday upon awakening of 14.0 was encouraging as it is the optimal keto level of 10. My next scan at midday Wednesday after breakfast was 8.9. I didn't eat dinner on and on Thursday upon awakening my scan of 15.0 was again an optimal level of 10. The variations seem normal given the circumstances and I am very pleased and satisfied with the results. The value of quantifiable affirmation that I am doing well is enormous. Going forward I will do a couple of scans per day for a while to establish a reliable baseline. After that I will use it occasionally for affirmation and to quantify when I am slipping to give me the encouragement I need to get back into the optimum level. I usually ride my bike 20 or 40 miles and I am looking forward to the results after a ride but this Colorado winter is not providing the usual occasional dose of sunny 50 degree days I need to venture out. The app is great. The only downside is the sensor, the upside is when they return the unit you have a new up to date calibrated unit. As I don't plan to obsessively monitor my ketons but will use the unit to occasionally monitor them after establishing a baseline, and to give me direction when I digress. A break from monitoring will be welcome.

Good as a daily check on my Keto levels
I've been on a Keto diet for about 1.5 years. I started just doing Intermittent Fasting and ended up in Ketosis, so I just went for it. But I realized that I needed some way to track my progress. Urine strips are useless. So I bought this device and have been satisfied with it now for just over a year. My wife is not on Keto so I'm not as strict on my macros as others and I no longer calorie count. The Ketoscan gives me a quick way to track my progress. Later into my journey I bought a Keto Mojo and added blood testing into my routine. I test with the Ketoscan every morning just before I end my fast. On Wednesdays and once on the weekend I add blood testing (beta-ketones and glucose) to get the glucose data point and to correlate to the Ketoscan. I find the blood tests generally track with the Ketoscan but there is variation. If my blood test shows I'm in high ketosis the Ketoscan will also show high, but there is not a direct mathematical relationship. They are measuring different things, so I would not expect them to be perfectly related to each other. But they let me know that I'm still on a good track. Based on this feedback I can often tell by listening to my body when I'm in a high level of ketosis. Some complain about the need to send it back after ~320 uses to have the sensor replaced. I consider that a good thing. Any device will go out of calibration over time, if you want an accurate result it will need periodic calibration. They seem to be pretty quick about it. Even my Keto Mojo includes calibration fluid so I can check its accuracy periodically. I do find the app a little annoying. It forces you to check off on a warning not to test 30 minutes after you eat. There is an option to not show this again, but it shows every time. After looking at this over 300 times I think I get it. Too many buttons to push and acknowledge to get a reading. I don't have any problem blowing at the proper rate, it is not that hard guys. The Keto Mojo app allows me to manually enter breath acetone into the database so I can see both blood and breath readings taken at the same time. But the Keto Mojo app does not properly represent the value to the level of ketosis. I wish the Ketoscan folks would work with Keto Mojo to get this right. It would be even better to have these two devices sync up automatically. I'll continue to use both devices to track my progress for the foreseeable future.

It can be difficult to get a reading and it gets stuck in error loops.
This is the second Keto breath analyzer I have tried. I replaced the first one because the results were too inconsistent. Although it can be difficult to use, the V2 Ketoscan was a huge improvement. I was able to compare the results to my Ketomojo GK+ and get reasonable accuracy from the Ketoscan. Now for the bad news: after a little over a month, it's become totally unusable. It runs the self-test, then signals that it is ready to begin testing with a countdown timer. Afterwards, the test prompt comes on, signaling it's time to blow into it. Then it displays an X error message, after which it cycles through the process again. This repeats until I quit. I searched the internet and found the "solution." Apparently, alcohol and other elements interfere with its readings. I followed all of the available "fixes," but none of them worked. Bottom line: 1) It can be difficult to get a reading. 2) You have to replace the sensor periodically. 3) It gets stuck in error loops. (BTW, I don't know how the repeated failure loops factor into the sensor life cycle.)

Superb and highly practical
By the time I got this, I was already following a ketogenic diet for few days. Within a few days I saw my acetone levels rose from 2-3 ppm to 6-7 ppm. To confirm I also used a CGM for my BG as well as checked my blood ketones. Both these measurements independently verified the accuracy and functionality of the breath analyzer. I also really like the ketoscan app that you can download from the app store. This was helpful for me to properly blow for the measurement as well as I can check the daily fluctuations as a graph. The initial cost is high compared to blood ketone monitors but overall cost of usage is much much cheaper with the breath analyzer. In my experience 0.6 mM BHB equals to 5 ppm acetone. I really donโt understand why BHB measurement is superior to acetone provided your main interest is to stay in nutritional ketosis. You need to look beyond your initial cost because not only this is much cheaper in the long run but also encourages us to stay in nutritional ketosis and no needle pricks

Results seem reliable, but the item doesn't feel like it should cost so much.
I'm tracking for the keto diet, and so far this has been easy to use. I would love to be able to use it move often, but with only 300 tests before the device disables itself, I'm kinda regretting my purchase. The device just feels cheap, the plastic feels cheap. It's doing what I need it to do, but I'm not really confident in my purchase especially after realizing the Ketonix device does the same thing, has an app, but does not have a limit on the number of usages. Live and learn- once I've run out of uses, I'll decide on whether I want to go through the whole process of having to send it back for a new sensor or just switching to Ketonix and thinking of this as just a lesson learned with a high price tag. If there was not a limit on the number of tests, I would be a lot happier with my purchase.

A GREAT tool to MASTER your keto diet; never wonder if youโre in ketosis again!
I absolutely love this thing! Itโs my new best friend! I was skeptical about spending this much money when things are tight for me, but being able to understand my levels makes it well worth it! Definitely more helpful than the urine strips, which I initially liked. I use this throughout the day to check my ketone levels, and I am able to adjust my food accordingly. For instance if my levels are lower than Iโd like earlier in the day, Iโll tweak my macros for dinner to help raise them or leave something off that particular meal for the day, or have more fat etc. I feel like I have more control and mastery over my keto routine with this. I still use carb manager for tracking but my goodness, this takes ALL of the mystery out of the โam I in ketosisโ question! Answers that question AND tells you how โfarโ in ketosis you are in. Super easy to use. Blow once to calibrate, blow again to gauge your data. The app is fairly straightforward and records your data. You donโt have to bother with the app JUST to see your levels, as it also displays on the device. It auto shuts off and seems to stay charged for a good amount of time. Iโve had it for 5 days and havenโt had to charge it yet. I canโt say enough about this! Highly highly recommend! Heads up that you do have to have the sensor reset after 300 trials or so for $30 but even still IT IS WORTH IT!!!!!

Handy if you must get an immediate ketone reading
I recently purchased the V2 KETOSCAN Mini Breath Ketone Meter, and it has been a game-changer for my diet and fitness tracking. This portable breath acetone analyzer is designed to measure ketone levels and calculate body fat-burning rates in your exhaled breath. What I love most about this product is that it is non-invasive. There is no need to prick your fingers. Blow into the device for 3 seconds and get an accurate reading of your acetone levels. The device is also very user-friendly, displaying your results in PPM (Parts Per Million) on the built-in white dot matrix display, which can be viewed on the mobile app. Speaking of the mobile app, it is incredibly useful and easy to use. You can record and monitor your acetone levels and weight daily, weekly, and monthly, and track your calories with photos of the food you ate. It's a great way to keep track of your progress and make informed decisions about your nutrition and fitness regime. What I found most impressive about the V2 KETOSCAN Mini Breath Ketone Meter is its ability to calculate body fat-burning rates. This allows you to determine your optimal ketosis state and plan your nutrition and fitness regime accordingly. It's a great tool for anyone on a low-carb, ketogenic, or other nutrition and fitness program. Overall, I highly recommend the V2 KETOSCAN Mini Breath Ketone Meter to anyone looking to monitor their fat metabolism and level of ketosis. It's a reliable and easy-to-use device that has helped me to stay on track with my diet and fitness goals.

Great Service
Delivery was very prompt and when Ketoscan app was not initially working the issue was resolved within days. Looking forward to my keto journey and results after struggling with menopausal weight gain.

The readings don't make any sense
I did all measurements following the guidelines stated in the manual (nothing in my mouth 1h before measurement). I have a normal BMI, no Diabetes - just health conscious number geek. After a nights sleep measurement first thing in the morning shows 100% Ketosis (life threatening!).. Another measurement: A coffee with a drop of milk 4 hours ago, 2nd last calorie was about 20 hours ago... It shows 0. I have as well measurements that COULD be right, but it seems more like a broken clock that shows two times a days the correct time.

Doesn't work
I bought two Keto breatherlsisers and two blood Ketone meters. The two blood ketone meters give the same reading. When I am in Keto at 0.5, the breath meters don't register.

Needs recalibration!
The product is easy to use and handy, pretty accurate! The downside is after using 320 cycles/breaths, it needs to be recalibrated. To bad for me as I stay in Singapore and the nearest country is Korea to recalibrate it. I have to pay all the mailing etc. I don't know if I want to recommend this!

Unreliable Readings?
Hello! I just purchased a V2 Ketoscan Mini and received it today. How exciting. However, the first use told me I was at level 11 - strange. There was no way. So i tried it again a few minutes later and blew 3 consecutive different numbers - 4.5, 4.4 and 4.3. Something is clearly off - what is going on with my device??
