Great value
I'm a wedding photographer and use this lens for both macro and portrait photos. Great overall, focus is a little slow but good enough. You can't hear the price.

Cheap for a reason. Because it's cheap!!
takes okay portraits. Macro leaves a lot to be desired. Auto focus sounds like a gas chain saw. Save your money for the Sony 90mm macro. Don't go cheap!

Great Lens!
This is a great lens. It’s sharp, great color and contrast. I only manually focus my macro images and I found this to be very smooth and accurate. I love getting super close to my flowers and found this helps me do just that. Great buy and great price.

Product Photography
We bought the Tokina FiRIN 100mm lens for product photography and so far has been a Beast of a lens. I would definitely recommend this lens as the price and quality are top-notch.

Best macro for the money
I did not buy this through Amazon so this is not a rating of their service or delivery. I needed a macro lens for my Sony A7r3 and decided on the Tokina based on price alone. Didn't want to spend over $1000 for the G-master. Some of the complaints I have read are legit. Because the lens is not an internal focus lens it is a bit noisy and focus is slower than I am now used to BUT the optics are amazing. This has to be one of the sharpest lenses I've used. As for the focus when I'm working in the macro range I will use manual focus anyway because AF never works that well no matter what lens I've used in the past with my Nikon gear. I am very pleased with my purchase and would recommend this lens to any Sony shooter that needs a Macro specific lens.

Terrible Auto Focus, noisy focus motor.
I returned this lens. Constantly hunting for focus, extremely noisy focusing motor. Performed like a lens from 20 years ago. Contacted the seller and reported the issues. They said send it back, so I did, and purchased the Sigma 70mm Macro which was much cheaper, accurate, quieter. The tamron needs a firmware update badly or maybe I was just sold a defective model.

On Manual You Cant beat This Lens
I do focus stacking nature photography. This lens is perfect for the application. Sharp, good color rendition, and excellent manual focusing with easy to read calibration zoom. For the price, can't be beat.
