Wow! This unit is great!
Highly recommended. We have a high end vacuum cleaner that is fantastic but it was damaged in an accident so I have been holding off repairing it (I can repair to myself) until I have some time to sit down with it. So I had this idea to buy a stick vacuum, which would cost a very small amount compared to buying a full sized unit. That was OK, the problem with the very low cost units are that they take longer to clean the floor because they are not powerful, and they take effort to clean. Worse still, long human hair, from the ladies in my household, would get tangled in the brush roller and I would have to cut it out carefully every time I clean the floor, taking as long to clean the brush as it did to actually clean the floor. Then I ran it over a hook that is used to hang Christmas Tree ornaments and brush unit was damaged. I performed a repair as best as I could (this low cots units are not meant to be repaired) and it was out of warranty, so it was now working but would stall easily once it pick up a few strands of hair because I did not have replacement parts so it was hobbling along. I got tired of the hobbled stick vacuum and wanted to replace it but now knowing that stick vacuums are not as powerful nor robust as the hyper expensive full powered vacuum cleaners I did some research to find something that was more powerful, could handle long hair, was more powerful and robust as well. That is how I got to this Bissell unit. This unit is far more powerful even though its listed as a stick vacuum It deals with long hair (and presumably pet fur as well) extremely well, so far its not wrapped itself around the brush, it all got captured in the dust container It pulls up a huge amount of dust from the carpet (we had a recent, unexpected, massive dust storm) which the previous stick vacuum left behind, which was rather astounding and easily visible in the front mounted large capacity clear dust container. It also is super easy to dump the contents, you really do just push the button and the trap door on the bottom flips open allowing all the dust and hair to drop straight into the dust bin, so easily. If you turn the powered brush on (which you would always do for carpets) the brush is powerful enough to pull the unit forward so its easy to get it to move and and it steers very rapidly so you can get around furniture legs easily as well. This unit is impressive, is a very good deal for its price, its far ore powerful than expected and picks up more dust and hair than our previous (top rated) stick vacuum so its worth trying this unit for your home.

Hair never gets stuck!
Love this vacuum!! It works so well I live in a house with many women that have long long hair and this is the first vacuum that truly works great for hair and dust. The hair never gets stuck on the roller! I never expected that. The canister is so easy to empty. It's also very easy to clean as well. The only downside of this is it is a little heavy to move around definitely gives you workout. But it makes it worth it when it works so well! Definitely recommend this product, it also has some great attachments a crevice piece that lights up. A mini roller brush that works great on the stairs. I really love this vacuum.

Pleased with first use
Finding a vacuum that checks all my wants and needs at the same time has proved to be impossible. We are a multiple pet home including an in and out Australian shepherd. We also live rural so the dirt and dust is a problem. My most recent purchase was a cordless vacuum which in the begin before the dog was great but proved to not be powerful enough to remove the dog hair from my rugs and carpet. It still has its place in my home but I was sick of the left behind hair that looked like it just got smeared and drug around on the rugs. Straight out of the box the things I am happy with, the suction is great and really removed the dirt and hair. My rugs look fluffier and not matted down. I love that it came with the pet attachment for furniture, that was something I was missing with my last one. Those were my two must haves. I also like that you can turn off the rotating bristles when doing hardwood floors. This vacuum is heavy, which I knew it would be but I’m willing to overlook that for how well it picked up the hair. The location of where the cord attaches is annoying because it makes it too easy to run over it if pulling back in motion, just have to make sure to pick up that cord and hold it out of the way. Because it is so heavy it does make it a little difficult to maneuver but I don’t have a huge home so again I will deal with that. Not a vacuum I would use to do stairs with as it’s just too heavy and would be awkward. I guess I have just become someone with multiple vacuums with multiple purposes. Overall if you are looking for something to solve a pet hair problem and you can overlook a couple things this vacuum so far seems to be the one.

I've been using my Bissell for over a year now and I have absolutely no complaints. It picks up all manner of dirt and loose particles and the receptacle is very easy to empty. The hose is a decent length and can be secured to the side of the machine when not in use. I find the hose stiff, though, and when I try to use it with the attachments, it is easy to pull the entire unit over on its side, so you have to be careful when using the hand tools. But I think this is quite common with this type of vacuum cleaner (it was also the case with my Dyson upright). I have two cats and this vacuum has been able to handle the load. Overall, I'm very happy with my Bissell, and I even ordered a cordless stick Bissell this year for smaller jobs.

Well my to cats who are long hair Calico's and with the carpet and area rug I have, there was always a light hair "film" left behind from my old vacuum, very frustrating. This was a super fast delivery so I was happy to get started. I found it very easy to assemble, it is however a bit weighted, but still a one hand task. I love the "long pile/short pile" options this way it can really dig into the different carpet, and that it does! The suction is good and I like how the beater bar gets right in there and have no hassle of hair build up. I find the LED lighting useless but it's there and maybe helpful to some. I also liked that I could use it on my kitchen floor. The accessories work really well, the mini power head did a great job on my cat trees and the window beds they sleep in. I even did the drapes with the soft brush and went hog wild and did my mattress, and clean out the radiators, just so see how versitile it could be, in all situations it did a nice job. The one thing though, is I wish the hose was a few inches longer to be able to reach the top of the large cat tree. The other thing I was slightly disappointed in is that it doesn't get under a bed and such very well because of its design, oh well have to pull out the bed somethings I guess. It stores in a tight space nicely and the canister is very easy to clean and empty. I have the manual cord wind up version, for the few seconds it takes to wind up the cord I don't see how the automatic one is worth it. Really it just has a little weight but it is a solid piece of kit.

I read a few articles before hand on what may ne the best pet vacuum. This one was at the top. Another review mentioned hiw great it was with cat fur and I was sold. I was not disappointed. I have a long haired cat and the vacuum worked great on livingroom area rug. It was easy to put the vacuum together. Pretty intuitive to use. Cat is deeply afraid of it however and peed when accidentally cornered in a bedroom.

I have had previous Bissell models. My last one was cheap (close to $100) and the roller died/burned out before the year was up. Still, for the price I paid I didn't mind because when it worked, it worked like a hot damn! So I got this one quite happily to replace the dead one. When I started vacuuming, it seemed pretty great. Good suction, but a bit awkward to use the attachments (the hose is kind of weird the way it sits on the machine). Within a few minutes, anytime my leg, knee, hand or arm brushed up against any part of the vacuum, I received a pretty significant static shock. It only got worse with further use. So, I stopped and decided to empty out the canister and clean all of the parts and let it dry out, then try again. But, when I was emptying the dust canister, some fluff was stuck up around the top so I reached in to dislodge it (have had to do that before with other vacuums) and my finger got such a powerful static shock that it hurt after for ten minutes!!!! Once I cleaned everything, let it dry thoroughly, and tried again a couple of days later, it was no better. In fact, it accumulated static charge even faster. So, I returned it and got the Cleanview Pet Liftoff which I LOVE.
