Four year old Grandson loves this. It's messy because of it needing water but he thinks its very cool! For car to change color we put ice cubes in the cold water tank and very warm water in the pool area and the water temperature rapidly changes so we are constantly removing and adding new water and ice. Really better for an outdoor toy than inside as water gets spilled but it's fun for him to see car magically change color and he loves the shark biting and then spitting out the car!

I bought this for my grandson and he likes it. It arrived quickly and well packaged. It was easy to assemble and I will be buying additional tracks to enlsrge it, but for a 4 year old it is good for now. It is a nice set, but the only drawback is that the car does not really change color in the water, it seems to be a slight change in shade that lasts only momentarialy, that is why I give 4 stars and not 5. It is otherwise a good set, Hotwheels makes good products and my boys were always happy with them and I will continue to purchase.

I got this as a gift for my son's best friend who was turning 4. Once it came in, my son had a complete melt down that he didn't get his own. I mean... wow. They both loved playing with it. It's like water table fun for older kids. The color changing car was the star of the show. It does make a mess though. I put a towel underneath as they play, and with the car being shot out of the shark's mouth, there is a spray of water across the tile. But hey, mama gets a solid 20 minutes without being needed. So it works for us.

My almost 3 year old is really into Hot Wheels cars, and I ordered this so he could have a place to drive them. He is really into sharks too. The parts are a light weight plastic and the fit on parts is loose. You cannot pick it up and move it and have the parts stay together. The cup for hiding ice water does not click and comes dislodged easily. You need a parent to hold the set down so it doesn’t move all over the place as he tries to drive the cars. The shark mouth mechanism is shoddy, sometimes it works and sometimes it does not. This is when I as the parent is launching the car, works even worse if it is the child. At least you can push a button to leave the mouth open tho. Larger hot wheels like vans do not fit. I ordered an optional extra color shifter car with my purchase and received an ambulance. It doesn’t fit of course. Guess which car my son keeps wanting to drive thru the shark road? Since I specifically added this within the order as an advertised extra accessory to accompany this product, it is more irritating that it doesn’t fit. You need extra track (not included) to really use this, that’s fine it is not included but this could have been made more clear and I would have ordered at same time. I am not happy with this product and would return except son does like it - thou he gets frustrated due to the poor quality.
