My Midnight Scoop arrived today and I was not disappointed with how easy it was to use. The scoop has got a lovely weight to it with a really nice feel. I have tried using the trigger action mashed potato type scoops but they break very easily if too much force is used. They are only good for soft ice creams. This one is so easy to use as it simply ploughs through the hardest ice cream like a miniature super bulldozer giving you the perfect ball of frozen goodness. I know it is quite pricey, but anything of quality always is, and to be honest, I must have spent more over the years on inferior scoops! One actually snapped the scoop head off and I nearly broke my thumb. The Midnight Scoop is also very easy to clean under the kitchen tap. This 3rd Generation ice cream scoop is made of 100% stainless steel. Its ergonomic design allows you to use your body’s strong muscles rather than your weak wrist joints. My only concern is that it is not really any use on the pint pot Ben & Jerry-sized containers but then again they are mostly eaten straight from the tub with a spoon anyway! Who in their right mind spends £30 on an ice cream scoop? This is a piece of art, a sculpture, a thing of beauty, but more than that, it is a dream to use. After you use it the first time, the price becomes irrelevant. This is streets ahead of any other scoop for really hard, straight from the freezer ice cream. Wish I knew how to upload a video, it just glides through spoon bendingly hard ice cream with so little effort. Its weight is balanced so well, the handle nestles in your palm, giving a perfect push action, the secret of this scoop. It’s a solid lump of stainless wonder. Oh how I wish I’d bought it years ago, but I guess it wasn’t invented then. Packaging is gorgeous, over the top, in every sense, but gorgeous. This would make one of the most useful and treasured wedding gifts, even if a scoop wasn’t on the list. You could spend £50 on a gift that wasn’t appreciated half as much as this one would be. I am usually the most cost conscious savvy shopper, but was swayed by the hype. Well, it’s NOT hype, this is the best £30 I’ve spent all year, period. Buy one with the money back guarantee, I guarantee you won’t ever want to return it, it really is that good. Don’t even try justifying your purchase, it will do that for you as soon as you open the box. How do you judge value for money? I’m not sure, I just know this is real value money. 😀😀

I've had this for 5 years now. In the 5 years before that I broke 4 scoops. This one is just a perfectly designed tool that works so much better than a normal scoop and is indestructable. Yes, it's a lot of money BUT it's a worthwhile investment if you have good quality ice cream every few weeks. (or days! :) )

I bought this back in 2020 and we love it, so much so that I'm writing a rare review. I was breaking an icecream scoop once a year before this beast. 5 years on and this is as shiny as day 1. The only minor quibble is that we don't dishwasher it, but that's no real chore. Come the zombie apocalypse this is what I'll be reaching for to batter them, it's a hefty, quality, piece of kit.

Having broken about 6 supermarket bought ice cream scoops I decided to buy this as a scoop that will last forever. There's no doubt that it's solidly made and will last forever. It is however really difficult to scoop out a nice round ball of ice cream due to the shape of the cutting edge. If anything the scoop size is a bit too big. Loses a star for this reason.

I know this seems shockingly expensive but it’s like the Ferrari of ice cream scoops. I can’t see why it would ever break or corrode so I’m expecting it to outlive me! Another case of buy well/ buy once! It gives me a little smile every time i use it. It also came beautifully packaged so would be an ideal present for the ice cream lover in your life

I got it for my hubby for our 11th wedding anniversary (stainless steel) and boy he loves it! It’s quite big but perfect for a man’s hand. I use too just less :) It’s heavy and quality is superb, I honestly thing it will last forever and will pass it down to our children one day :)) It came in a beautiful box with protection pad so we keep it there when not used. If you want to have a great quality ice cream scoop splash some more money and get this one and you will not regret.

Wow! This thing is so well built and unapologetically over engineered. It will easily old last me and probably the next generation too. At nigh on £30, it's a lot of wonger to drop on an ice cream scoop. However, if like my family you 1) love ice cream and 2) signed up to the the 'buy cheap. Buy twice' matra then you won't regret buying this thing. We also own the rosle ice cream scoop, which I highly recommend also. It's nice having both actually as the rösle scoop is half the size of this monster. It's clearly designed for the US gallon sized tubs and will make short and very swift work of emptying a standard tub this side of the pond. But a lovely bit of kit, that just makes you smile when you admire the engineering. Oh, and it's pretty good at scooping ice cream :)

...habe ich alle meine alten Eisportionierer (darunter auch Markenware aus edlem Hause), nachdem ich den Midnight Scoop das erste Mal in der Hand hielt und in einen Eisbecher steckte. Mir wurde sofort klar: Ich werde in meinem Leben keinen anderen Portionierer mehr in die Hand nehmen wollen. Dieser Apparat hier hält sein Versprechen. Er ist massiv, robust, trotzdem nicht zu schwer und liegt gut in der Hand. Hier hat sich jemand Gedanken gemacht, wie ein Eisportionierer auszusehen hat, der diesen Namen wahrlich verdient. Lagnese Cremissimo ist keine Herausforderung, da flutscht er durch, als sei das Eis Butter in der Sonne. Selbst hart durchgefrorenes Eis aus dem Pappbecher interessiert dieses Stück Stahl nicht wirklich, er gräbt sich mühelos da durch, vorher antauen lassen ist nicht notwendig. Keine Ahnung, was ein würdiger Gegner wäre, vermutlich könnte man sich damit sogar durch einen Gletscher graben. Diesen Eisportionierer kauft man sich nur einmal im Leben, und vererbt ihn dank seines zeitlosen Designs noch an die Enkel weiter. Der hohe Preis ist mehr als gerechtfertigt.

Absolutely amazing scoop - worth every penny.

I am writing this on the day I received it, so I cannot comment on, for example, how it handles near the bottom of ice cream containers. And I do not care. This is the King of ice cream scoops. My previous ice cream scoop was a Dansk: hefty, stylish, with pointed tip in line with handle, and serrated edges. It is a masterpiece of quality. Push to scoop. Easy. But after two decades, it is pitted and I think its useful life is short now. I can't even find a picture of it online, let alone find one to purchase, even used. I have spent years trying to find anything comparable, and Midnight Scoop is the only one. This is it. This is the scoop. I knew as soon as it touched the ice cream that this is the best ice cream scoop in the world today. That is all I can say. Thank you.
