If you're a gamer or just stream on many devices you might want to consider this one.
This router is one of the best on the market. Once I finally got it set up it has worked perfectly. One point to mention, I purchased this item "used, like new." True in that it was a returned item. Unfortunately, it had not been set back to factory settings. I finally called Netgear to help me. The young woman who helped me said that it had been registered to someone else and it took us over an hour, after she registered it to me, to get it to connect to my internet account. Besides that whole issue, this thing works great! I was unaware of just how much we stream and with what devices. Since I installed this, all of my devices connect faster and no more glitches. So performance is spot on. Because I purchased "used, like new" I paid a fraction of the original cost. I believe I'm getting greater value for my money. Even those who pay full price are getting their money's worth.

Excellent router, worth the price.
The router is absolutely excellent. I had it for a couple years now and I have absolutely no problems in range, connectivity, or speed. I do set every device up with a dedicated IP to make sure there are never any clashes. Once I had two devices try to get on with the same IP, and that caused issues, so if you do see any issue, that may be it. Setup was smooth. There are a lot of features and configurations to make use this router smooth and intuitive.

Awesome router with an awesome app. Great for gaming!
I had zero problems hooking it up, the app was very helpful and walks you through what to do. You can change passwords and wifi settings so easily. As for the router, i did an internet test speed before i hooked this new router up and i had around 80 mbps download speed wired to my pc. With the same modem but this new router it jumped up to around 110 mbps. I really like that it has several different wifi bands you can connect to, 5 ghz for my phones, 2.4 ghz for my xbox, and i think 4 or 5 ports for ethernet. As for latency, i didn't notice any difference from my last router. I'm not that knowledgeable about what causes latency, I'm sure it's a variety of things but playing Rainbow Six Siege on my high end gaming pc, i am getting bewteen 10-20 ping/latency whatever it is, which is about what everyone else was getting in my matches.

So far, so good
I installed this X6S AC3600 this morning; it was a breeze. Whenever I get a new “computer related” piece of hardware, my mind races back to the mid-90’s, when installing anything tech required you to call Bangalore India and try to understand a person that was genuinely trying to help you, but was all but impossible to understand. Those days are gone forever, but the nightmare remains with me. Perhaps that’s why I waited about a year too long to replace my previous NETGEAR router, which had, over the process of three years, literally burned itself out. Towards the end I was resetting it at least twice a day. So this new router seems to be a breath of fresh air. First, it was incredibly easy to install. The NETGEAR app took the place of the Bangalore phone call, and even guided me thru the relatively easy (but outwardly daunting) task of changing the factory preset SSID, to match my old SSID. As a result, I didn’t have to reset any of my WiFi devices for the new router; it was seamless (I’m talking about three security cameras, a printer, our MacAir, our ‘BigMac,’ and all our tablets, phones, plus the TV, and Alexa... sweet!). It’s range is far superior to our old NETGEAR, and the download/upload speeds have also increased greatly! I’m impressed. Here’s a special bonus for the free world, it ISN’T made in China; buying this router doesn’t feed the beast! It was a bit spendy, but, as the the man said as he was falling down the 20 story building, “so far, so good!”

Configuration is horrible and keep resetting to factory configuration again and again
The only reason why I gave this product a 3 star because the signal is stable and strong. However, the router configuration is horrible and supper buggies. 1. I set up port forwarding yesterday, but when I logged back in, the whole setup table is disappeared. What I had to do is to reset the router again. 2. Secondly, the built in VPN is very hard to setup, unlike ASUS router, all you need to do is turn on feature and give the router user name and password.

Pre-Used No Box, but 100% perfect, Price, Performance and Prompt shipping.
In the past, I have had relativley bad luck with being a preused router. YOu never know what this thing has gone through... Well, apparently this router did not go through much, and not only is it good as a stand alone router, it also compliments mesh functionality...... Now if only they had a Netgear Nighthawk X4 AC2200 Wi-Fi Range Extender EX7300 v2 and a NETGEAR EX8000100NAS Nighthawk X6S 1000 Mbps Tri-band Wi-Fi Range Extender, for a similar price, I would be in heaven.. Good Product, Good Seller, what more can you ask?

Fast and unreliable
I am a router enthusiast. I had routers from all major brands and I usually help friends setting up or fixing router configurations. And for some time I wished to buy the great Netgear Nighthawk. When my LAN reached 25 devices active at the same time and things started to slow down I figured out that a better router would help. My Spectrum router was not being able to deliver as fast as I needed. After I replaced the router I immediately noticed two things, one is that the router is very fast, good. The other is that some devices could not move from the 5GHz network to the 2.4GHz, the router just denied access, for some reasons. I had to reset to factory defaults and things started to work again. Then I used the router for 3 weeks without any problem. Then, out of nowhere my AirPrint Canon printer started to behave weird, refusing to print anything but still being able to scan documents from time to time. After spending one day trying to fix the printer I realized that the problem could be somewhere else. I put my old Spectrum router back and the printer started to work without any issues. So, I put the Netgear Nighthawk back and performed another factory reset, which fixed the issue with the printer for some time. It looks like the Bonjour service used by the printer is being blocked somehow by the router. But I noticed that the other issue (blocking some devices from moving networks) was back. It looks like the printer gets confused when the devices move from one network to another. The picture in this review shows that multiple devices have the same IP assigned, and this cannot be fixed with a reboot, only with a factory reset. At some point the printer started to fail again, so I decided to return the router. This is not a new router so it is likely that it will never get another firmware update from Netgear, so, I was not expecting a fix for those issues. Sad story.
