PCIe Serial Expansion Card, 2 Port PCI Express 1.0 x 1 to Industrial DB9 COM RS232 Converter Adapter Controller for Desktop PC (Will Also Work on PCI-E x4, x8, x16 Slot)

This a 2-port DB9 serial card I use for an older scanner and ham radio gear. I installed the card on the motherboard and ran the driver software on Windows 11 with no issues. Everything worked on the first try. The printed manual is all in Chinese, but you really won't need it. Windows 11 does not automatically find the driver for you, so you'll need the included CD (you will need an optical drive). Screws or other hardware are not included, but you should have that from your PC case. It comes in an anti-static bag in a plain manialla box. The CD disk does not automatically run when you insert it. You must first create a folder on your C:\ drive and then copy and paste the CD contents into it. No need to read the README.TXT file and no need to look through all the folders searching for anything. All you need to do is physically install the card and then run the file called PUMPSETUP.EXE. It will automatically figure out what to do and it's very easy to install the driver. After that, I was up and running with no hassle, no errors. It just worked.

This product has no instructions. The included CD has more then 1800 files. It took a lot of searching to find the correct driver and get it working. The CH35X worked for me on Windows 10. I can now connect to the serial port on my radio. With a little instructions in the product copy this would be a solid 5 star product. Update: I just moved this from one computer to another. The CD is long gone. I searched for wch382l driver and realized that the chip driving this board has 2 serial and one parallel port even though the parallel port is not broken out. Installing this driver worked.

I needed the 2 com ports. The Install went well, however, the info on the correct driver to install for this unit is rather vague. This led to installing the incorrect driver which only allows 1 of the 2 ports to work. Tried multiple times to clear the driver and load the correct one each time only the 1 port worked. So I only have 1 port that works and I have to switch cables manually on an embedded PC every time I want to send data to a particular machine, which defeats the purpose of a 2 port card.....

Wasted more time trying to find the right drivers on the included disk. Long list labeled with driver numbers and not descriptions of the adapter. Finally found one for an adapter with an additional port and got tired of looking, made it work. Spend more and buy better quality.

It is what it says it is! Adds 2 extra serial ports via PCI-e. Comes with 2 small form factor brackets for SFF PCs which is very nice. The driver on the CD that came with it didn't work. I had to do some googling to find the correct driver. If you do a google search for CH38 windows 11 driver, you'll be able to find it. It should be on the wch-ic(dot-com) website.
