Fundamentals Made Funny!
Once again, the brilliance behind "Indexed" cuts through the intellectual clutter with her simple yet insightful illustrations. This time, she refreshes some long-forgotten concepts that everyone should know. I'm on my fourth copy, having gifted the first three to colleagues! Whether we realize it or not, we all face countless battles every day. Jessica Hagy's latest project will painlessly introduce the uninitiated to irrefutable truths, while bringing a chuckle to those reviewing these time-tested but frequently forgotten fundamentals. Bravo, Ms. Hagy!! Your next masterpiece is eagerly awaited!

SunTzu is a god😇 and Jessica has made it easy to “see”
I have always been a fan of SunTzu and relied on his text. His easy to read , but difficult to interpret and internalize. Jessica has done her homework, and used her talents to develop a medium, verbiage, and a dialogue to present these concepts. I am truly impressed.Read and internalize the Messages presented. If you don’t understand the message, ask those around you about their experiences, have them share their insights; never be afraid to read, study, and ask for assistance- it takes a village!

Jessica Hagy + Sun Tzu makes the world a better place
I've always liked Jessica Hagy's website, Indexed. On it she provides humorous and insightful observations about life, philosophy, ethics etc., formatted as cartoon graphs on lined 3x5 cards. The style is something all of her own and is simple and subtle. By taking commonplace observations or sayings and representing them as a a mathematically inclined child might, she creates something that may just satisfy both sides of your brain at once. Her posts often make me smile, and I like to think they even encourage me to be just a bit more mindful, perhaps even a little less dismissive, about what goes on around me daily.Granted, as a humorist she has her hits and misses. Her style also isn't for everyone. Especially, if you find it tedious to interpret graphs you might find her posts less entertaining or insightful. The good news is that you don't have to pay any money to figure this out -- you can go read her cartoons free to decide if you like her work or not.Which brings me to this book: A lot of fans of Sun Tzu's The Art of War have posted critical reviews about Jessica Hagy's version. They claim that she's over simplified a classic, or they find her to be not very funny, or they get tired of seeing page after page of Venn diagrams. I get that. For me though, this version of Art of War works.Just like the original Art of War, I would not recommend plowing through the book page after page. You can do that, but I think there's almost more value in picking in up and reading one or two thoughts with their corresponding cartoons and then putting the book down. Jessica's style encourages that. I've always found Art of War to be a mixture of the obvious with the frankly forgettable. What Jessica Hagy's version does is it helps me to slow down and digest the each of Sun Tzu's concepts in a way that I can reflect on the less obvious aspects implications and retain Sun Tzu's message. Her style also encourages me to go back and reread the original while analyzing it more along the lines of her style -- pulling things apart and stitching them together to tease out relationships, mapping the principles to my every day life, and looking for the humor in the truths. If you are interested in reading the Art of War in its original form, then this probably isn't the book you want. If you have already read Art of War and are looking for something that might help you see if a different way, or if you just want more Jessica Hagy, then it is. Enjoy!

Brilliant visual interpretation of Sun Tzu's strategy classic
A brilliant reimagining of the wisdom in Sun Tzu's classic. Jessica Hagy's Venn diagrams and other charts about modern life are insightful and witty, and this new book, using the technique to diagram al of Sun Tzu's ultimate strategy guide, is a fantastic idea, perfectly executed.

A great book but I was expecting more
I read this because of a Business Insider recommendation. As an experienced marketer, I am a hudge fan of the art of war. I have several versions of this classic book that I never get tired of reading. However, I did not liked this version so much. It mixes a lot of important concepts of the original book, and sometimes it make fun of them. The main idea of this version was interesting, but, in this case, the execution was a little messy.

Great visual appeal
This book is great visually for someone who doesn’t have time to read a lot. It’s also easier to understand than the original version. I bought it for a lawyer who thinks it’s great to display on his desk among his other books.

network/ The Art of War is a great book but so hard to casually read
I purchased this book from a recommendation I got from [...]The Art of War is a great book but so hard to casually read. At least for me, having the sayings visualized made the book much more enjoyable and fun to read!
