I got this pen to help with the process of testing out my various fountain pen inks, and it holds ink well and provides a good smooth line (sometimes a little thick) for a much longer time than I'd have guessed. The color and pattern in the glass are very attractive (reminds me of the glass paperweights that my grandma used to collect), and much more classy than the glitter-filled ones that are more commonly found out there. I do prefer the look of the large bulb style with straight channels to the tip of the "nib", but they don't provide as even a line for writing. The edges of the tip were quite sharp, making it very scratchy when writing I fixed this very easily with a small sheet of ultra-fine sandpaper/emory cloth (1200 grit). I put a piece of sandpaper flat on a tabletop, and gently wiped the tip across it while twisting the pen. After a few sweeps, the edge had smoothed and it was much more comfortable afterward. Be careful not to overdo it. I should mention that this pen is smaller than I had expected (though not really much smaller than advertised). The whole thing fits in my hand. Mine is 7.25 inches long, which is a little shorter than advertised, but for some reason I expected it to be a little heftier. This isn't a problem, just make sure you know what you're getting.

I had never used a glass dip pen before and wanted to try one out without spending a lot of money. I love using this thing and it was definitely worth the price. Extremely smooth drawing, doesn’t have that “scratchy” feel of a metal nib. Draws up plenty of ink so you’re not re-dipping every half an inch of line work. I haven’t done any writing with it yet but it’s definitely my go-to for inking sketches. Clean, precise lines for either outlines or crosshatching and (again) very smooth for nice, even curves. Haven’t had any issues with unintentional drips or splatters. It arrived on time, in great condition, and the box is well cushioned with styrofoam for safe storage. 10/10 would definitely buy again and have been recommending it to a lot of artists.

Color received was not too close to color advertised. There are are few rough spots on stem. At this price, not a concern. It writes okay, but nib needs a bit of conditioning first. If wanting to try a glass nib, this is an okay place to start. Careful with pressure as these break easily.

This is a cool pen and I love the style. It's different and it work well.

I bought this to do dabs which other reviewers said you can use it for. The tip is too small for me to use it for that. So now it’s a pretty Knick knack. Idk how it is for calligraphy since I didn’t buy it for that purpose. It’s very delicate and pretty though!
