bought refurbished elite active 65ts. I tried them on with replacement gel tips and both got stuck in my ears. Do these stick well to the buds?

My experience is not with ear buds but hearing aids. I failed to properly mount them and one came off in my ear. I dad to go to a hearing aid store to get it removed. I cannot imagine that a properly installed ear gel bud would come off and lodge in your ear.

Can you leave the tips on the earbuds and still fit them in the charging case?

Yeah. I wear the medium ones and they fit just like the originals. No issues closing the case.
