ESV Illuminated Scripture Journal: Psalms: Psalms (Paperback)

This series of biblical journal books is a fabulous idea, I only wish they were available with Anglicised text as opposed to the standard American English we see in abundance - but as it is designed for making notes, I will be amending the language whereever necessary.The battered edges of the Book of Psalms I purchased, reflected how it was (seemingly) carelessly 'flung' into its ill fitting envelope and then squashed through my letterbox - much as other reviewers have already mentioned. That said, It was not a deal breaker for me - I just took a deep breath and proceeded to carefully flatten the edges, all the time reminding myself this is to be a 'working' book.The print, easily legible, on good quality paper in a single column is a joy to read, sounds funny, but it feels like a book! The odd bits of gold rendered, illuminated text dotted throughout the book add interest. I have found using a 'bookmarker' really helpful! The absence of notes, references, correlating verses etc. is refreshing and one can focus simply on the thoughts of our LORD.I have found it difficult to put pen to book because it looks so nice, but as the idea is not to get too attached to material stuff...🙃The cost is considerable if you get all of the books, but getting them bit by bit makes it feel quite affordable.

At first glance you can see this book is a bit bashed around the edges but I paid nearly half price on the amazon warehouse option so I am very pleased with the lack of substantial damage or use. The inside is perfect condition and I will enjoy creating in this journal along side study

These scripture journals are so gorgeous! 80gsm paper, lovely and creamy to the touch, and beautiful foiling on the cover.The layout is lovely.The dots on the blank pages are extremely faint, but they are visible as guidelines if you look carefully.I use mine with Sakura Pigma Microns, and I have had no issues with bleeding or ghosting (I think something more heavy-handed would probably bleed a bit though)

This is a wonderful book of Psalms using one of my favourite translations, ESV. The illustrations are lovely but a little few and far between, however, we mainly use this book to jot notes, drawings, photos, with our baby son on the spare pages and it works really well as the paper is thick enough not to bleed through. We're really enjoying this book.

This notebook is lovely but has no dust-cover/jacket, no box and no shrink-wrap, so it just knocks about inside the Amazon packaging.Since it's paperback, the edges do get scuffed and perhaps some of the colour peels up or it even could get squashed if you're unlucky!If you're game to try your luck, you'll find a beauty of a notebook with great readable-sized font and lovely drawing and lettering, and space to write. However, it's the Psalms, and essentially interleaved, so it's a chunky mama! So I'm not wholly sure how long the binding will last as it's just glued (not sewn).

Nice but but can't give as a gift as it's bumped on the corners and looks second hand

A good book. Unfortunately the cover was bent. The box wasn’t bent, so it was like it when packed. Disappointed as bought it for a gift. Will keep it and hope the next one arrives in better condition.

I ordered two copies of this book. One arrived in sturdy cardboard packaging and was in lovely condition, a beautiful book. The other arrived in a padded envelope and was damaged. The second one is a gift I now cannot give - but I am reluctant to order another incase it arrives damaged again!
