Apple Barrel Acrylic Paint, Blue Kazoo

I've been using Apple Barrel paint for nearly 20 years and I don't think any other brand acrylic paint can beat the quality for the price of Apple Barrel. The paint is on the thinner side but you can build it up easily enough. Some colors are a bit sheer and need 2 coats but it's not a big deal. The paint mixes well, blends well, dries fast but not too fast that it's drying up before you finish blending and doesn't crack when drying if a little bit of water is added while painting. The paint also cleans up very nicely and it's so easy to clean your pallet and paintbrushes. The paint does not stain your paintbrushes either like some other acrylic paints do. I've used this paint on paper, cardboard, canvas, wood, clay, rocks, even used this paint to paint a pair of converse shoes once and it is always consistent and reliable and gives really good results. If you want decent acrylic paint on a budget, this is it!Edit: The Apple Barrel paint colors I used in this painting are Cobalt Hue, Bright Blue, Blue Cotton, White and Black.

Apple Barrel makes a great product - been using their paint for many many years. As a crafter it’s reliable and their color shown is pretty close to when you use it, some colors do dry a tiny bit darker but it’s paint, we expect that and I always test it prior to use ! Highly recommend this product and this color will be great for sunflower painting and fall items.I didn’t answer for “sheerness”As it doesn’t pertain to this product - it had good coverage but the surface your painting also matters so you may need 2 coats of it’s porous wood

I was going to use one based on the bottle until I saw the actual color of the second bottle. I'm trying to paint a lamp as a gift without making a huge mess. I'm excited - these paints gave me a color ful day!

I think I caught these on sale, so I bought 4; won't be running out anytime soon. Trusted brand.

We bought a ton of apple barrel paints to try our hand at paint night on demand. It was a huge success! Some of the bottles needed to be shaken up before using, because they had slightly separated, but once we shook them they were perfect. The colors are opaque and go on smoothly. They give great coverage. One of our paint nights, we used a pumpkin pattern and graphite paper to put the basic picture on the canvas before painting. The Apple barrel paint covered up the graphite lines quite well. Some of the lighter colors did take a little more to completely cover the pencil marks, but for the most part it was opaque enough that it only took one coat.I love these paints! They are perfect for beginners and work well for crafts, canvas, and rocks. I used them for rock painting with my 3yr old granddaughter and she absolutely loved them! We started doing all the baby shark family on rocks, but it was time to go for her mama's birthday party, so we will have to finish them next time. The thing I liked, was that the paint did dry quickly enough that we were able to get to the next color without waiting forever for the first layer to dry, but it did not dry out so quickly that it was not pliable enough to do our paint night pictures.Another thing I like is that they are not only non-toxic but they are easy to clean. My grandbaby got them all over her hands and I even got a drop on my shirt. I immediately took the shirt to the sink and rinsed it out with cold water and all the paint came out right away. The paint on our hands had time to dry before we wash them, but it came off easily with just soap and water.

I bought this to do some art work on a canvas, the quality of the paint is good and i was able to get the desired effect. The paint is thick so it brushed onto the canvas nicely, i also mixed it with other colours which also turned out very nice.A little went a long way and what i loved is that it dried really quickly.

It arrived with lid lose and little spilled. When i tried to use it was surprisingly thin, more like a stain to me. Ive had 2 other apple barrell paints and theyve not been so thin. The colour due to thinness of paint wasnt very good. More just a little bright than anything. Disappointed in this one.

Good quality, especially for the price! Great coverage even with water added to thin out. It's more of an off-white & I bought it to match something closer to 'paper white', but I mixed in a tiny bit of bluish purple to cancel out the yellow & it's perfect.

Amazon didnt like my original yet extremely brilliant review of this item. So, this is blue paint. It paints well. Looks good, wears well. You should not use it to paint people, animals or kids. Kids arent people until they start making their own money and pay taxes. So yeah, it was extremely inexpensive, and got to my house in less than 2 days with free shipping. Fast enough that I could paint my sisters baby. But I didnt. Or, did I.......
