Warning: this game is addictive
I'm really not sure if I can write out every possible thing about this game that I absolutely love, but I'll try. At first, I didn't think too much about it because I'm more of a Harvest Moon/The Sims kind of gal, but I wanted to give this game a try after reading all the rave reviews. It took me a while to get used to the blocky, cartoony style, but after several hours, days, weeks and months of playing, it really grows on you. This was actually my first Animal Crossing game to play because I don't own any other console, but I'd like to think it works really well with the Wii! The game itself is absolutely simple. Well, sort of. You obviously have certain goals to complete like paying off your mortgage to Tom (Crook) Nook and making enough money to unlock other rewards and actually be able to buy the nicer things sold in the game. For me personally, it didn't take long to pay off the mortgage and get all the renovations out of the way. Then again, playing obsessively can help with that. You catch fish. Chase after bugs. Hunt down fossils. Chat up the neighbors and give them funny slogans. Dress up your avatar. Furnish your house, etc etc etc. It's amazing how easily you get sucked into this game despite the extremely limited amount of things at your disposal. Because let's face it, after a while, anything can get redundant and boring. But I've had this game for a few months now and I'm still playing it every day. I don't think I even mentioned the best part and this involves my Dad because he does not play video games and he thought it was super silly when he watched me play, but he still stuck around to watch no matter how many jokes he made about it. Lo and behold, he has now become more addicted to the game than me so that's telling you something. I do have a couple of things to nitpick about the game though. One being that while I enjoy giving funny catchphrases and greetings to the townies who ask, it gets really really REALLY annoying to the point where I ignore them 90% of the time when they want to talk (sorry folks). The most important thing I can possibly nag about is the fact that the more you walk/run/hustle about your town, the GRASS WILL WEAR DOWN and you're left with patches of dirt/sand all over and it doesn't grow back. I haven't hit the winter stage just yet considering it's still summer, but apparently the lack of grass equals no snow which then equals no snowballs to make your snowman. It's a huge bummer. You can be as careful as you want, but if you keep running around the same pattern, your grass will hate you regardless. ALL IN ALL. It's a wonderful game and I highly recommend it to everyone and anyone!

Animal Crossing Wild world DS Addict loves this CIty Folk wii
I have been playing ACWW on DS for almost a year now and have almost mastered it and have everything. I got a wii this year so I could do wii fit plus and get exercise....doctor approved and recommended. Anyway it is a blast and I use the game as a reward for exercise. It is about 75% like ACWW. Then man it takes off and has twice if not more things to do. If you are an ACWW player here are a few things that are different and so fun. 1. You get to choose 1 of 4 houses to move in when you start. 2. You get 4 characters all having own house (4 mortgages too) 3. Many of the same animals from ACWW but they say different things. 4. So far I have meet Pascal and he behaves differently 5. Saharah also has different things for you to do. 6. The town landscape is multi layers. Mine has canyons, cliffs, many lakes, 2 waterfalls, You still have Nook's, Ables, Civic Center, Museum in the town 7. You take a bus to the city and there are many animals walking around to talk to, that is so fun. I'll not tell you all the shops but you will know some of the people there too. So far it has been a lot of fun and starting over is great, something to work at. It does let you move your house from the DS if you want to. I did not so do not know how that would look. I am an adult player and I simply love the game.

Great but flawed
Like the Animal Crossing games before this, you are the only human moving into a town full of animals. However, this time you ride into town on a bus, with the good ole Captain as your guide. You come into town, pick a house and become indebted once again to Tom Nook. Even though the characters are the same, this is still a great game. Things have been updated to make this game better. Some of my favorite things: 1) Your townies don't run inside whenever someone visits. Now you can interact with them inside and outside of their homes. 2) When friends visit, you can now hold fishing contests between yourselves. When you fish, everyone can see and go after the same fish. 3) Traditional holidays are back. Now you can celebrate Halloween, Christmas and Easter with friends and townies. However, one thing that is a huge pain is the animal tracks feature. If you tend to walk the same paths through your town each and every day, eventually you'll start wearing down the grass in huge patches. This can take a lot of work to fix. You'll have to plant flowers and trees and keep them alive for weeks to make the grass grow back. Some towns end up one huge, brown mess which becomes nearly impossible to fix unless you are extremely persistent. Overall, this game is quite enjoyable and a nice addition to your Animal Crossing collection. Just be prepared to lose some grass and spend a lot of your game play time trying to fix it.

Warning on ordering from this source!!!
We ordered this product from this individual on April 21, 2013 and here is it May 20, and no product. It was mailed by USPS and I was never able to track it with the USPS number given. I posted my feelings about the seller and had a response asking me to take down my comments if he made it right and would send it UPS. See the following message from the seller: I'm going to have a new copy mailed to you as I believe this one to be lost in the mail. I'm new and don't have a perspective as a buyer so I greatly value your feedback and I'll use UPS for this. I haven't had an issue like this until now with USPS but I guess it was just a matter of time. I see now that my ordering system only says "ships in 1-2 business days" so I definitely need to find a way to revise it so that customers can know when to expect to receive their items. Thanks and I would greatly appreciate removing or revising the feedback when you get the 2nd copy. My feedback is very important to me as it should be to any seller. I feel bad now especially since it's for your daughter after getting good grades. I'm new and still learning how to fix some of the flaws in my service so I hope you can understand it from my perspective too. Let me know if there's anything else I can do or if you have any other friendly constructive criticism. -Nick So I was promised a replacement to be shipped by UPS. After asking for a tracking number so I could find it I got this unbelievable response. See the following message the seller: Yes I do have a tracking number. It was shipped USPS. The reason I didn't ship it UPS is because they wanted ~$18 to ship a single 6 ounce package with a tracking number and ~$8 without a tracking number, which doesn't make sense to me. I shipped it USPS instead, and I made sure to use the 08074 post office instead of the 08062 which is what I used last time. I need to look more into UPS and Fed EX and see how I can get the cost a lot lower than ~$18 per package because I do believe their service is much better than USPS. Thanks and let me know if you need anything else. -Nick So again he shipped it by USPS instead of what he promised because he thought the cost to him was unreasonable and still no product after 30 Days. I thought to build good customer relations you may have to eat it sometimes for your mistakes. I'm obviously dealing with an inexperienced person knowing nothing of customer service and how to rectify a bad situation. So for your own protection I would not ever recommend ordering from this source. Unbelievable.

Really fun game!
I've only had Animal Crossing: City Folk for a few days, but I love it! I wouldn't recomend it for a small child, but for someone 10 or up it's great! I'm 14 years old and I find it very addicting. I spend a lot of time playing it everyday. There is no storyline to follow; you just do whatever you want to do whenever you want to do it! It might sound boring, but there are so many little things to do that you'll be kept occupied. You can go fishing, catch bugs, plant flowers, dig for fossils, go shopping, and so much more! You can customize your home with lots of wallpapers, carpets, and furniture. You can earn bells(money) by selling, flowers, fruit, and anything you don't want. Bells can be used to pay off your mortgage and buy items. You can spend time with your neighbors. You can chat with them and send letters to them. Soon you'll make friends with everyone in your town! You can also take the bus to the city. In the city you can visit the boutique, watch a show, or get a new hairstyle. This game is a great way to relax and have some fun. I definately recomend it!

Detailed!!!!!!! :)
Woah this game is awesome. I am 12 years old but I was like 10 when I got this. You get to name a charachter and it's you! You also get to name a town and you get a house. The currency is called "bells." you can use them to get decorations for your house, seeds for your garden and clothes and coffee or whatever you want. You also have neighbors that are little animals. You can earn money by collecting cherries and sea shells. You have to pay mortgage which is a little bit annoying but if you're rich enough you can buy designer stuff. You can take the bus to the city. The city has cool shops. I love Able Sisters store because I can find clothes for my charachter like that one time she really wanted an ancient greek dress and I finally found one. Be patient. Good things will happen in this game. The seasons will change with real time if you set things up. So does the daytime. You can buy things to water your garden, catch bugs or fish. Then you can donate them to the museum. This game is a blast. I say get it. It made a great christmas gift for me.

Enjoyable
I really like this game, there is so much more to do than the game says, you can change your shoes, shoot down balloons. Go to flea markets. You can even make your own constellation, plus all the other things you could do in the other games, you can even play hide-in-seek. Plus a ton of other stuff. So if you enjoyed any of the other Animal Crossing games, you'll love this one even more. Though some things about the game take a little getting use to, like at first it is harder to fish, like the angels, and the other animals do not ask for as many favors. Other than stuff like that the game is fabulous. Though I only recommend the game to people who are not in to violent games, though I think some of them might still enjoy this game, but I personally think that the ones who will get the most out of this game are the people who what a game this is just pure fun to play.

Cruise control
Ever seen the movie Wristcutters? A guy kills himself and ends up in a world where "Everything's the same, just a little worse." That's Animal Crossing in a nutshell. Real life, but worse. I'll admit I had fun the first time I played Animal Crossing, but after a week of pawning off fruit and fish to pay off my mortgage, i got pretty damn bored. Apparently, this game's only goal is to collect "stuff": furniture, clothes, trinkets, whatever. Anything you can't wear or use to furnish your house, you sell or donate. Otherwise, you keep doing the same tasks over and over so that you can buy bigger, better things to clutter your house with, and none of it is of any consequence. Hey, that sounds familiar! Basic principle, the more time you spend on Animal Crossing, the more stuff you amass. No skill or thinking required. Besides buying and selling, you can pull weeds, talk to the neighbors who speak from a bank of about 3 repetitive phrases, maybe sit on their furniture for 10 seconds. This version of AC is especially neat, cause if you're really bored you can head to the City, where you can blow a week's worth of virtual fishing on a virtual sofa, or if you're really lucky, you can buy a balloon from the fabled Balloon Man. That's right: if you see him around, you get to buy a balloon! Honestly, if I wanted to spend any time doing all this, I'd do it in real life, where the rewards are real and the people are interesting.

a wonderful game
I really enjoyed playing animal crossing. I think it's good for everyone: kids, adults, boys and girls. It's funny. It's a bit addicting, though. The real time thing helps the addiction, but it's not something someone should be worried about, since you are in control of the clock. Plus animation is really good. The design too. You can customize your house, collect bugs and fish, discover dinos, speak with the villagers, write letters and so on. However, five stars are given because the game meet my personal standars. If you don't like collecting things or you are annoyed by writing letters this is not the game for you. This game gives his best when you play with friends, but it's enjoyable even if you play alone. Indeed, I played it alone and I was perfectly happy with it.
