Good
Beautiful colours, loved the earthy colours as well as greens, not much impressed with the blues, these are good pencils but are hard so if you are used to prismas then these you may not like, you have to use little pressure while colouring.for sharpening I found Staedler dual sharpener with graphite sharpener part best for these pencils

They need a rough textured paper to work well.
Had these delivered almost a week ago. I expected better from "professional quality" colours but alas! They are hard to blend; if the paper is smooth, they'll work like any other cheap colour pencil. The drawing of Worm was done on Menorah's 180 gsm A4 sketchbook (less textured) while the flower was done on Brustro 25% cotton 300gsm cold pressed paper (more textured). Clearly, more textured paper works better for these. Also, one of the pencils came with a broken lead.

Thank u
The set works super on strathmore's toned grey or tan paper but the white pencils arebest on Artagain and black onces on bristol vellum. Great set.

Pencils don't blend at all
Pencils don't really blend, also not soft enough. Poor quality. Better avoid this.

Damaged product
The media could not be loaded. Item looks old and not like a new stock and box has few dents and the color pencils lead is already broken

Love them!!
I wasn't exactly sure what I ordered? Lol. I did not know they were pencil crayons, but I have gotten them and tried them, and I love them! They have a bigger core so they are not so easy to break at the tip and they are nice and smooth and blend very nicely. It's a great little set for black and white portraiture for sure! I'll definitely be buying another set or two ☺️

These were much better than I expected
These were much better than I expected. From the reviews I was worried they would be too hard, and not color well. They were fantastic! While they are hard enough to hold a point, they color just fine, have plenty of pigment for good coverage, and I don't have to use too much pressure to color with them. They glide easily over the paper. In fact, they felt fantastic coloring with them. I also really like the shades of both black and white. I highly recommend them.

repeat derwent customer happy with these pencils
big appreciation for amazon offering a set of these with a damaged container/tin for a discount. i wouldn’t have purchased these otherwise – i already own a few sets of artists grade pencils. upon seeing the discount, i figured these would be great as a travel set, since the leads are more durable than prismacolor and i don’t want to carry around a set as expensive as my faber-castell polychromos. the price was right, so here i am. i stuck them in a more easily transportable case.now, every colored pencil type has its own characteristics. these are WAXY. depending on who you are and how you draw/color, this can either be a good or a bad thing. while the leads are hard, they’re still velvety smooth. the pigmentation is great. i can layer and layer with subtle layers, or i can go in hard for intense opaque coverage without concern over the leads breaking. i like that versatility. i feel like these pencils would pair well with dry pastel for mixed media work. good for detail work, with how well they sharpen to and maintain a point.as always, having the lightfastness information available through derwent is very helpful. this is one of the factors that sets these pencils apart from the cheaper stuff.i would not recommend these for beginners. novices, go for a set of prismacolor. they have an easier learning curve. professionals and students, however, will find aspects of these pencils to appreciate. they’re not bad at all – just not for everyone, with their texture.
