Take this baby for a spin
This product is exceptional! Buy this, and never worry about limp, wet greens again. We have owned other salad spinners before and they all either broke or didn't do the job. Some had the rip cord puller which wore out or snapped off within a few months and some had the crank like this model, that either slipped or never fully dried the greens. Most had a bowl that was far too large for what you need in a household, and finding a space for it among all the other big kitchen items was annoying for a device you are not using everyday. This baby is perfect! It is 5qt. which is all a home needs and is designed so that the space it takes up is minimal. We keep ours inside a stock pot, so that it is actually taking up unused and unseen space. Awesome. The design is simple but solid, as everything that works well should be. It fits together with ease and clean up is as easy as a brief rinse. We have a garden where we grow, lettuce, herbs,etc... This year we had a bumper crop so decided to give this model a try. We put this through the paces with bunches of Spinach, Basil, Parsley, Rosemary, Thyme, Butter Lettuce, Arugula, Beet Greens, and even Catnip. The Lougnee whisked away all the rinse water and left everything crisp and dry, even the Catnip was salad ready if you were a cat. The amount of water it removed was beyond what we have seen in other devices we have owned and it held up to the huge amounts we spun. All in all, this product is worth every penny and we are happy we finally found a quality device at such a good price. I would recommend the Loungee Salad Spinner to anyone.Take it for a spin, you won't be disappointed.

BPA Free and Big Enough
TL:DR: BPA Free, Easily fits 1.5 romaine lettuce heads, and it is easy to work.So I read at least one review that knocked this container for not stating that it is BPA free anywhere on the packaging and only on Amazon's item description. I was in contact with the company and was able to get its BPA test report. I don't work in this field or anything but it looks legitimate to me. I also was worried about it being too small but I laughed a bit when I opened it up and saw how big it actually is. I attached a picture showing a normal and smaller size head of romaine lettuce. I chopped them up and put all of that in the salad spinner at once. There seems to be plenty of room at the top but the spinning mechanism does take up some room so I didn't want to push it. I rinsed my lettuce and used the spinner and it took out a ton of water. There was plenty of room between the straining bowl and the external bowl so the water that was spun out didn't touch the internal bowl. It works great and is easy to use.

Also Great to Clean Sprout Hulls!
I purchased this "salad spinner" as an experiment for another use - to clean the hulls off of sprouts. Salad spinners work by centrifugal force and someone in the sprout community mentioned that it could be used to remove hulls.I sprout seeds (alfalfa - shown in the photo) in a jar and then, rather than rinsing them a hundred times to remove hulls, I simply put them in the salad spinner. Wa la! The hulls were separated and fell to the bottom, leaving clean sprouts ready for use.Of course, this works as a salad spinner and, is a good product. It arrived boxed in solid packaging and the mechanism is easy, simply turn the handle to expel liquid. But, I'm thrilled to find another use for this. You could use it for any seed/sprout you have.

The !oungee is much too small to be practical & "BPA-free" claim is questionable!
I am a Greens Spinner user of many years! Today, I received my Lougnee and was shocked to see how small it is! It looked like a toy to me! Here are the "true" measurements: 0uter Bowl is exactly 9-1/8 inches in diameter; 5" high. The inner bowl is significantly smaller: 8 -1/8 inches in diameter; 4-3/4 inches high. I immediately tried it out with a fresh bunch of Romaine lettuce. I always wash & dry all of it to store in the refrigerator in a large container (handling it carefully so as not to bruise the lettuce so I don't break it into pieces or cut it up; I do that just before using it).First off, the Romaine lettuce leaf couldn't fit it the basket without damaging it, but I bent it anyway to fit. Second, the spinning handle was rather difficult to turn. Third, there was NO mention of being "BPA-FREE on the box it came in, only that it was made in China. NO paperwork or pamphlet was enclosed.I have to say that I was not impressed, despite the low price. Yes, it removed most of the water, but it is too small to be practical, in my opinion. I am a Senior woman & cook for only "one" most of the time, yet it is too small for MY needs! I'm returning it & will go back to my search for a Spinner that is large enough to be practical, dries greens well, is durable, and "BPA-FREE" is stated on the packaging! I'm willing to pay twice or more than the Lougnee to find a Spinner that compares to my old Oxo that was such a gem! [Unfortunately, the larger OXO available today spins slowly and doesn't dry nearly as efficiently as the Original, leaving greens wet.]

Might be difficult to spin if you have arthritis.
This works as advertised. Greens are clean, dry and salad ready. Used it to store the lettuce in the fridge and after a week it was still green and crisp. With the basket in the base loosely fill with greens. Add water and a couple of tablespoons of white vinegar and swish with your hands. Empty the water then spin. Voila!***If you have arthritis of the hands this design may be difficult or impossible to use. There are other designs for a few dollars more that you push on a big button to spin.I would definitely buy again.
