has kept the birds away
i traveled thruout california and i would notice the shimmering in the distance from the fields of fruit trees and wondered what was going on , i asked around why there was shimmering flashes in the fields and was told it was for keeping the birds away , so i decided to try it on a fig tree and a pepper plant i have at home since every year i was losing the fruit to the birds.. i tried that plastic owl for a while ,but that did nothing to keep the birds away, then i tried the strips and man it did the job !!! the figs were not touched and we were able to leave them on the tree till ripe.. the chili plant also was left alone. awesome !!!

Not what it says
It’s not “tape” it’s cheap ribbon that has no stickiness to it. “Tape” sticks to things. I bought it with intent to “tape” on my railings. Again just thin ribbon and not “tape”.

First corn crop saved from crows in 3 years!
I strung it all across the field. On the owl abd scarecrow. Bright sun makes it look like is moving. It almost blinding at times. So happy. Crows have caused us to give up on the corn in past few years. This works it’s like disco prom in the garden. I took it down when corn was about 6-8 inches but kept it on bamboo poles around edges of garden. Also strung it on top of my bean rows close to the ground and the geese steered clear for once. I even got an old timer to try it. He hated the way it looked but was happy his corn grew.

Scared the Woodpeckers
Very light weight so it flutters around a lot and highly reflective..for a while. The tape does degrade over time in the sun; after all, it's just coated plastic. It took around three months in almost daily full sun before it dulled, became brittle and started breaking apart in strong gusts. I just replaced the strips when that started happening. I had woodpeckers move into to my newly planted orchard and they were starting to girdle the poor little trunks. I tied one piece of this to each tree with loosely fitted fishing line (so the line didn't strangle the trees as they grew). Each piece was the length of the trunk to about a foot above the ground. The woodpeckers did not like it for two reasons: 1) the flashes of light it reflects and 2) it physically flapping around preventing them from comfortably perching on the sides of the trunks. It worked well. They stopped harassing my babies and moved to the larger trees nearby. Overall, it's a cost effective and simple way to deal with that particular problem.

It's working!
I wish this had came 1 day earlier because it does keep the sparrows away from my tree swallows nest box. If I had had it installed sooner the sparrow wouldn't have gotten into the nest box and killing at least 1 of the babies. I was devastated. I will never have a nest box again without tape like this on a bracket over the box.

Reordered...
I ordered this product to keep the seagulls off our sailboat. So far so good. I just reordered but a longer roll. After a few days in the wind at our mooring the reflective part of the tape is gone and the tape appears transparent - so I need to replace it every few days. The tape is intact, it just is no longer reflective. Replacing the tape is still much better than the hours spent cleaning the dead, half-eaten fish carcasses off our boat. I'm hoping that whatever caused the tape to reflect is not toxic to aquatic life. The tape also makes a noise in the wind the first few days, like the krinkling of foil. The seagulls do not like the noise that it makes in the wind.

Really Worked !
I had tried everything to get rid of @ 25 birds who had apparently lived long term under the porch roof. When bought the house I could not stand all the poop on the porch, welcome mat and mailbox. Installed chicken wire which only worked for a few birds. Put this up and even in bad weather it has stayed up and kept all the birds away !

Worth it.
A bit pricey for what it is, but it works on most birds.Have several up to protect my newly seeded lawn and it keeps away about 80% of the birds. The ones that don't care in my region (PHX) are: grackles, mourning doves, and quail (sadly, all seed eaters).
