Retekess TR604 AM FM Radio, Portable Radio Plug in Wall

This is a great little radio. AM/FM, static proof, great reception, easy to navigate & operate, fine tuning with antenna. Takes batteries or plug in, it's also a nice compact size & really works & sounds great. It's a durable little radio.

I was looking for a good basic AM/FM radio for my garage. I usually start by looking at lower ratings/recommendations to see what they have to say about the selected brand and if they are legitimate grievances. After due consideration and looking at some of the higher ratings, I decided to buy this radio. I am extremely satisfied! It is this inexpensive non-digital radio that has decent sound quality . One of the reviews mentioned that this radio was as good as a Crane, which he also had, which is quite a recommendation because Crane and Seagan are the two best AM/AF radios on the market, but it is much more expensive. After receiving the radio, I tested the tuner to see if I could get major stations in my area and was completely successful. The bottom line is, I would recommend this budget radio to anybody who is looking for a quality, trustworthy product that works as advertised.

I’m older and wanted something simple and large enough to see the channels without my glasses. It has extremely good sound and is simple to use. A simple twist of the knob to turn it on and off and easy to change the channels although I prefer NPR most of the time. Definitely no bells and whistles, but just what I wanted. I wanted something for my garage potting bench. It’s perfect.

The radio itself is very nice, compact, and it’s easy to get the radio station you want. Just what an analogue radio should be. I have issues with the sound quality. Good: works with batteries, haven’t tested the battery life but seems pretty efficient. My son played with it for a few hours on batteries with no problem. Bad: when listening to music, there’s a distinct metallic “ringing” sound that reverberates on deep sounds or low notes. Mostly bass guitar and piano. I first noticed it when “somewhere only we know” was playing on a music station. The piano in the background of the song sounded like a person wearing high-heels walking through a concrete tunnel. Or maybe like a train crossing alarm going off in the distance. It’s distracting to the point that it’s unlistenable. I mostly use the radio to listen to talk radio, news, sports, and occasional classical music (something to have on as white noise at night). For these purposes, it’s great. I’m using it to listen to classical music right now and it sounds perfect. The violins sound like violins. The flutes sound like flutes. But songs that have a lot of bass, guitar, or backing piano, just don’t sound right on this little guy. If you plan to use this radio to listen to modern music, you might want to keep looking.

It filled up all my expectations. Good reception, perfect size, good sound and I can depend on it for hurricane season, because it works with electricity and with batteries

If you are looking for a sturdy portable radio with decent quality sound, this is it! I like listening to the AM band, and the reception for AM isn't good where I live so a radio with poor reception capability becomes real obvious. So far, my Sony and Panasonic radios work awesome. Needless to say, both AM and FM receptions are superb. I'm not into testing each radio for its sensitivity but more for its practical use. And the Retekess TR-604 is a superb radio! It has a very big and decent speaker with a sensitive DSP turner that locks into weak signals with ease. You can easily fine tune it unlike some other DSP radios. This radio takes 3 - "D" size batteries so it should have a very long battery life even with non-alkaline batteries. Unlike some of the newer Sony and Panasonic radios, the Retekess has hi & low tone control knob. I prefer it on the low since the high makes the sound too tinny. Besides that, the design and build are straight forward and sturdy. For a radio under $20.00, I'd say this is a very good deal.

Great radio. A lot louder than I expected. Bought it for the drive in and it worked beautifully. Now it is my garage radio

I bought this radio for an elderly gentle man who is 89 years old. The knobs are large and easy to use if you have a shaky hand. Also like that it is not complicated. When it arrived and we gave it to our family member we were impressed with the sound quality for the price. It runs on batteries or electricity. My Grandson also wanted a radio for Christmas so we also bought this radio. He walks around with it everywhere. We are well into March and he still uses it every day and is still happy with it. Then we wanted a radio for ourselves that can run on batteries as we have a fair amount of power outages. All 3 arrived on time, in good shape. Would recommend this radio.

Este radio funciona excelente, lo compre para mi padre una persona mayor que le gusta mucho escuchar música, el AM y FM tienen muy buena recepción sin necesidad de usar la antena, buen volumen, en general lo recomiendo ampliamente, buen producto.

As a customer, I might have made a wrong decision, but Amazon, as an organization, allowing 110V equipment in India shows Amazon's greed. My mother plugged this radio into a 220V supply and could not use this radio for even a day.
