OnePlus have done it again! Awesome!
Love this phone! Previously had a OnePlus 5T off the back of many Samsung/Apple devices, and always felt it the best phone for value and indeed performance. Upgrade to the 7 and wow..... it's awesome. PC/laptop challenging specifications for £549! Don't let the debacle with Huawei put you off Chinese handsets; unlike Huawei, OnePlus don't make their own chipsets so aren't party to the same privacy/security concerns (and subsequent import/export issues). OnePlus handsets are very well made; they look the part, and are built robustly too. My 5T took a hell of a lot of abuse before the screen eventually cracked (long story, but an accidental throw was involved). Performance wise it's outstanding; I don't game and instead use mine for productivity apps, and as the screen for a DJI drone. It is never slow, and always responsive when firing up apps. OnePlus' cameras are amazing - far superior than your comparable iPhone (not forgetting that these would be £750+). The dual camera gives many options for the types of photos you can take; HDR, depth, etc.. Ok, it's no DSLR, but I personally don't feel I need a 'point and shoot' camera any more. Storage at 256GB is far more than you'll ever need.....and if you do, either add an SD card or backup to cloud which is a much better idea than storing everything locally. Moving the fingerprint scanner to the screen is an excellent touch, so no more reaching to the back of the handset. Facial recognition remains fantastically quick. OnePlus have updated their handsets now so that you can now connect external displays via a USB-C to HDMI adapter (bought separately). One thing to look out for, however, is that the 3.5mm headphone jack is now more and you'll now need a USB-C to 3.5mm adapter if you have old-school headphones. OnePlus don't include one, but do sell one. Save your pennies and get one from an Amazon seller instead. The phone comes complete with a plastic screen protector and rubber transparent case; consider upgrading the screen protector to a glass one as the plastic one is just to stop scratches and not impacts.

A very worthwhile step up from my OnePlus 5
PROSBig, attractive screen (a significant step up from the OP 5)FastSleek interfaceSleek designValue for moneyCONSNone observed so far.CONTEXTI'm upgrading from a OnePlus 5. I've previously had the OP1, OP2, OP3. I also have an Apple iPhone 8 Plus.I bought the OP7 prompted by the Amazon offer (5 month's interest free payment). I had been considering the Samsung A70 (big screen, generous memory).I use my phones for: photography, email, internet access, a small amount of word-processing, and audio (music and languages). I don't use it much (if at all) for phone calls (!), texting, games or social media.A large internal memory is important to me (for my multiple language/teaching audio files). A big screen is a must. The camera needs to be good (but doesn't need to be top.. I have a full-frame camera).Coming from a OnePlus 5, this phone is a significant step up.I can't comment yet on the photo quality, but I'm expecting it to be good (not excellent) if reviews are to be believed. I would add that my OnePlus 5 photos compare adequately with my iPhone 8 Plus. I use dedicated cameras for serious photography.

Good value Premium phone
Have had the phone for a number of weeks now and am extremely pleased. First, the fingerprint reader is top notch and typically very reliable and quick. There are the odd occasions where it'll take a second or so longer.A quick and bug free upgrade to Android 10 was released soon after I bought it. OnePlus have a reputation for good software support so hope this is a sign of things to come.Battery life has been solid. I'm able to get through 2 days of light-moderate usage before I get to about 20-15%. It'll also get me through a day of heavy usage pretty well.Camera is very decent. Not at the levels of the S10, Pixel or iPhone, but easily capable. Speakers are also very decent with a stereo effect from the top earpiece and bottom speaker.Only negative is that I had to buy a headphone dongle as they don't include one (or a set of earphones) in the box.

Enjoying my upgrade... So far.
Negative- Offered but utterly failed at their same day delivery. OnePlus still seem to not be recognised as a big player in phone manufacture so compatability with gadgets I've looked at getting has been tricky to confirm. Doesn't like to take action shots on the camera.Neutral- 75% success rate with the fingerprint reader. But not sure why that feature should be anything anyone truly cares about, I can always get in to my phone. Battery charge to usage balance seems fine and as would be expected. Hasn't blown me away or seemed like an improvement to the smaller battery but less power hungry phones I've had.Positives- Super quick and smooth functions and use. Not getting any delay with any kind of useGreat screen and sound quality. Trying to resist using this instead of my 4k main TV when at home. Camera is great quality, especially impressed with the quality of low light shots.
