I bought this as a "stocking stuffer" gift for my youngest who turns 5 this week. She enjoys coloring, drawing, etcfor fun. This is one of her favorite gifts from Santa, lol! She loves it more than a couple electronic gifts she received. I bought it to use at home, but she asks to bring it now every time we take a long car ride. I must echo the other parents -- the stuff that is scraped off is pink and is messy. I can generally vigorously brush her off, but it can be messy for a vehicle. Great purchase because of how much she loves it...

My daughter did one page of this today and fortunately, my husband had the forethought to make her get off the couch and onto a blanket to do it. The stuff that is scratched off gets everywhere. I had gotten this to take to church for my 3 year old to do during the service, but that will not be happening. It is way too messy.

this was a fun activity. I bought it for my 2 year old daughter who loves to draw. Even if you scratch off every bit of the top layer there is still a nice colorful picture underneath which is nice since she is too little to really draw. It comes with a wooden stylus there a place to keep it in the cover. The layer that scratches off is pink which is a nice little touch for a girl's product. The little bits that you scratch off can get a little messy but that is to be expected with this type of project. I imagine this would be fun for a little girl of any age, I even enjoyed doing it with her!

The grands live this. We have grand girls in ages from 4-11.

I purchased two for these for my daughters to use during a long road trip. They are ages 4 and 7.5, and these scratch books were, by far, their favorite items in the whole activity bag. The ONLY downside is that the little flecks that they scratch off get all over the car. It cleans up easily, but it’s still annoying.

My kids love doing these scratch art. It is a bit messy but worth it for the enjoyment they get out of them.

I purchased this to keep my kids (3, 6, 9) occupied on a long car ride. It worked! They all enjoyed it. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is purely for the mess it can leave behind after you scrape the pad. It wasn't a big deal to vacuum out the car, but just be aware.

My 7 year old daughter loves them! I got it for her for in the car and when we are shopping and it keeps her entertained 🙂 she has so much fun, and the whole page is scratchable 🙂 I’m definitely buying more

I find over all Melissa and Doug products are great quality, I bought this to keep a 5 busy while in car seat traveling, it would be good for plane, train and bus rides as well. It is not very big like a normal coloring book, so fits nicely on a child’s lap.
