A fun easy read!!
Very lighthearted and fun! As an older woman I absolutely loved this book. The quirky characters are so endearing and I loved the way their friendship developed throughout the book. The scenery descriptions made me feel like I was there with these ladies! The end made me tear up a bit and I was sad that the book ended. I do feel that perhaps there is more adventure waiting for Connie in a future book. I hope so!!!

A ROAD TRIP - WHAT A ROAD TRIP
Connie is an older woman. She has been teaching a floral arranging class. Connie needs a change in her life. Her children and grandchildren are simply not enough to fill her life. When she tells two of her students that she is ending the class, they are disappointed. They enjoy Connie and the class helps them fill their days.Maggie is an older Scottish woman who lives with Ringer. And has for many years. Ringer is a professional criminal. Now he has hurt Maggie by finding a younger woman. The worst part is, he simply ignores her.Gill is a woman who does not want to grow old. Her seventieth birthday is approaching. Her belief is that her black beehive hairdo and heavy makeup will allow the world to see a much younger woman. Gill is looking for a man, or maybe several men. But, she is certainly looking.Connie announces she is driving to Italy to find her ancestors. And she has decided to buy a large recreational vehicle for the drive across the continent. Maggie and Gill want to go too. These women do not know one another very well, but they believe the trip is a good idea.It is a good idea.Maggie canโt sleep the night before leaving for her trip. She hears Ringer come home and putter around in the kitchen. Early the next morning before she leaves the apartment, she looks in the oven and finds a bag full of money. And she takes the money. She is aware that Ringer will be very, very angry. But, after all she has devoted 30 years of her life to the jerk. The book has humor. The book has great character development. The book introduces the reader to many wonderful characters along the way. The book is very enjoyable. Each of these women learn about themselves along the way. And they also learn about one another. At times, what they learn about their fellow man can be quite amazing.I liked this book.

Quick summer read to make you dream of traveling the Italy coast!
This was a good story that intertwined the coming of midlife age, with that of new unexpected friendship, and a journey to better know what you want out of life. To not let it pass you by. I enjoyed this read and all of their misadventures!. I ended the book thinking how lovely it would be to have a similar summer vacation!

Easy read
This was an easy read for my flights to/from Orlando. It was selected for our first new book club read. Not sure it will lend itself to a good book discussion, but letโs face it, book clubs often are for getting together to have fun conversation more often than deep discussions.;) I loved the development of the unlikely friendships and the focus on older female main characters. Would make a fun, light-hearted movie with some strong female leads.:)

Escapism !
This is the follow-on to Connie's story but can be read as a standalone. It's once again a road-movie theme which provides for encounters and situations as the three friends drive south. It's a mystery to me how three seventy year-old women can eat copious lunches washed down with bottles of wine then start on the cocktails in the evening before a full dinner and more bottles of wine followed by digestives. Then the next morning they drive hundreds of kilometers, do hours of sight-seeing in baking heat then down more food and wine. A light-hearted read to be taken with a big pinch of alka-seltzer.
