GREAT for the price... 4 1/2 STARS
Once I found correct earplug (medium came off and stuck in ear... got it out) this is more than satisfactory amplification. My only complaint is the statement "Intelligent digital noise reduction--Identify language and noise, picks out the desired sounds from a cacophony of loud, competing sounds, so that you can listen well in noisy place" is not THAT accurate... it seems to add Treble to the sounds... quite a bit of treble. It really doesn't separate the sounds that well... went out for dinner yesterday and "dish, silverware noises" were as loud as the "voices"... but, that could have been just the restaurant...GREAT for TV viewing... now I see why GF was complaining that I had the TV too loud... now, will see how a Movie Theatre Works...AND the biggest test... I'm a musician... going to play with a band on Saturday... we'll see if I can even keep it in my ear with the Drums and Guitar on that side of me... :)OVERALL, am glad I purchased this and may get another... for my other side...

Awesome product
I have wearing hearing aids since I was 5 years old and now I’m 42 years old. My last set of hearing aids broke and can not afford to buy a new set which would cost me at least $3500.00. I began researching online for something affordable that could actually work while saving money and found this little hearing aid. There were mixed reviews but the bad reviews seem to come from people that are clueless about hearing aids. I took a chance and bought one for my right ear first before buying for both ears just Incase the product was a FLOP. I received my hearing aid today and it came with instructions, 2 batteries and a tool that I’m very well aquatinted with, I didn’t need to read the instructions as I know how a hearing aid works and adjusting the volume but I do recommend New users to read the instructions first as it is easy to read and follow. I’m amazed with the quality of such a affordable product! It’s small, comfortable and the sound is clear and I can HEAR my surroundings! I even had to turn the blasted TV down, it was so loud! Thank you for helping me regain my confidence again and take hold of my independence again! Wonderful product worth every penny!

ITE Laiwen Hearing aid
This is my first ITE hearing aid. In fact, this is my first hearing aid of any kind. I know that there are ITE (In the Ear), and BTE (Behind the ear) hearing aids that run from $25.00 to $2500.00 (and probably even more than that). The Laiwen ITE hearing aid I bought was for the left ear. It’s the ITE aid printed with the following info, (which may, or may not be the model number): “D-C-C2B” “8B621949”.I will say that this hearing aid delivers what it promises and I can say that the ‘characteristics’ of the hearing aids in general seem to all be apparently the same.I noticed that the same complaints were mentioned in reviews for those hearing aids that cost $20/$25 to the ones that cost well over $200.00. Therefore, I’m guessing that some of the less ‘comfortable’ features of many hearing aid models are a common trait and not a particular manufacturer design flaw. That is, because the microphone and the speaker are in such close proximity to each other, the potential for the system to “whistle”, (Feedback”), are very high (particularly in the ITE hearing aids.If the ITE is switched on when you insert it into your ear, (something that I personally don’t recommend, you’ll likely hear a feedback that can be momentarily and suddenly uncomfortable. If you’re not used to placing the ITE in the proper position in your ear, that feedback can become too much to ignore for more than a second or two.The Laiwen ITE seems to have an automatic switch-on delay to reduce that potential but I prefer to place it in my ear first, and then turn it on anyway. If I seem to be vague about the features of the Laiwen ITE model I actually bought (they have a six items represented on the Amazon ad page), it’s because I don’t know which features are in my model and which are not.I can say that I paid $60.00 for the blue ITE for the left ear, (imprinted with the numbers I mentioned earlier), and that you turn it on and off by closing and opening the battery case. There is a manual that comes with it but the pictures are very small and of poor resolution. In addition, all the pictures in the manual are in Black & White. However, the biggest problem with the manual is that it apparently refers to the operations of all the Laiwen hearing aid models. They didn’t actually name each model in any way that I could determine if the one I bought had, or didn’t have a particular feature the manual was instructing how to use. There would be notes like; “if your hearing aid has a power-on delay, the box below, will be checked”. The manual didn’t have a check in the “box below” (which was actually above and on the next page), but as I said earlier, my model DOES have the power-on delay.I do like the Laiwen ITE and I am getting used to having it in my ear but I must point out that you should use the smallest of the three earplugs that comes with the aid first. Then if it feels too loose, go on to the next size up, and so on. I found the medium size earplug uncomfortable and when I switched to the smallest one, the ITE became much more comfortable to wear.I also stress that you give yourself time to get used to the ITE and practice inserting it in the ear. The difference between comfortable and uncomfortable can be as little as a slight twist left or right as you place it in the ear canal. My fingers are far too large to be able to control the volume. I turned the volume up or down with the little ‘wire-screwdriver’ while it was out of my ear. I would then try that position and if it were too loud or too soft, I would remove and make a small adjustment and try again. However, after three or four times of that, I finally ask my wife to make careful, small adjustments as I listened for an ideal volume level.I almost dropped a star in my rating because of the vagueness of the information in the manual when it came to which model it was actually referring to.I think that was the most aggravating thing about the Laiwen; not knowing which features it had or didn’t have. In the end, I rated the Laiwen ITE 5 stars because I believe I got a fair deal for the money I paid. The Laiwen ITE delivers what it promises and though there are others out there that have addition features which the one I bought doesn’t have, (such as being able to reduce high octaves and/or increase the low octaves, (or vice-versa), I didn’t pay $150.00 for it and the volume level handles what I need it to.I know I won’t be wearing the hearing aid every day. In fact, if your hearing does need to be aided for normal, everyday activities, then I recommend you go to a hearing specialist. They’ll guide you to the kind of aid you would need and it would likely be covered by your insurance that way.I recommend the Laiwen ITE for those people who need to have a little ‘hearing boost’ every now and then, (like watching TV late at night while others are sleeping and within earshot of the set).I believe I definitely got a good deal and perhaps a bit more than my money’s worth. I only wish they would apply ID numbers to their various aids and refer to those numbers when the offer instructions about it in their manual.Rich

Great product
I have a barotrauma in my right ear the result of poor cabin pressure on an airline flight and was told that at some point the hearing loss caused by it would result in my needing some assistance. Recently I noticed I was having some difficulty and decided I would try this aid as I am not ready to spend thousands on a hearing aid. It took some adjusting as I have only to barely turn this thing on. My hearing loss is not too great. It works very well. I am really enjoying better hearing with this little amplifier. Based on what I have been told about hearing aids my grandmother and both my parents used them in their elder years I would say this is worth a try for anyone with mild hearing loss. Especially since hearing aids are small and easily lost. The trick is adjustment.

Supplier promptly replaced hearing device
Worked very well but after a month it fell apart. The little door that holds the battery broke because of the need to open and close it to shut it off, otherwise the product works well. I was contacted by the supplier and they stand by the warrenty and it was replaced promptly.
