Mathew defines words and terms in this writing that I've never read anywhere else. All of Mr. Kratter's books are amazing. The most critical concern will be one's ability to 'make money' with Mr. Kratter's mentoring, coaching and wisdom. I've accumulated truly substantive gains. My trading styles run the gamut; options, position, swing, long, short and /NQ intra-day mini (and now the recently introduced micro). The books are short but the coverage is long due to Mathew's ability to concisely explain complexities so than beginner's may quickly comprehend. Subscribe to Mathew's you-tube. My path to substantive bookable gains combined the re-reading of each book at at least three times to capture every nuance, subscribing to Matt's you-tube and using defined-risk (think Risk THEN reward) trading strategies. I don't listen to the 'noise' thrown out by 'talking heads.' Knowledge relating to Options greatly expands my ability trade all else because Expiry Date Implied Volatility provides a clue as to the projected movement of price. This is the reason for my advice to read ALL of Matt's books. You will have many 'ah-hah' moments when reading Matt's trading strategies (for instance) relating its content to, let's say, rubber banding. OK, think Risk first, Reward second and go create bookable gains. Do not fear defined-risk losses - it's how you learn. Consider a defined-risk loss, how much is easily tolerable, as tuition. You will pay 'tuition' one way or another. Simulated trading is great for learning the mechanics of your chosen platform but not much else. You've got to have your money at risk to really, really learn. Oh, by the way, don't discuss your trading with anyone else as they will inevitably crush your enthusiasm with THEIR fears, ignorance, know-it-all attitude and stupidity. Review: easy and practical - Learned some things - even the basics struck and helped me learn all about the stock market. Wish I couldโve learned years ago knowing the 7% rule!

A Great First Book on Stock Market Investing
As it stands right now, this is the first book I'm going to recommend to friends to read about investing. It's all very simple and easy to read. It's also a great book to go back over, as there are a lot of little tidbits about the philosophy of investing in every chapter worth remembering. I particularly liked the section on the things you DON'T do when investing. It actually helped me make a decision about a stock in my portfolio (Ford) and I'm happy with the decision. I'd give it 5 stars but there was a proofreading error that should have been caught in a book this short, and the section on calls and puts could be clarified a bit more for new people. To be fair though, I've never read or watched anything that made it make perfect sense, and he even says you will learn more by doing it than by trying to learn about it. Another reason for the 4-star rating is there's not much on technical or fundamental analysis. I understand that it's a bit beyond the scope of a beginner's book, but I think dipping our toes into concepts like how to read a candlestick chart and what the most important parts of a fundamental analysis is would be VERY useful in a book like this. I would also love for there to be questions in every chapter for him to ask and for us to recall. Overall though, it's a solid short read that anyone can absorb within a day to get their bearings straight right from the get-go of investing. Some people have said it's not as good as YouTube videos or other things but I personally disagree. If you're new to investing, a book like this is essential. It goes over the main components of investing and further reinforces what you need to be learning, and he does so with this book in a simple, easy way to understand. I think of it as a very nice/distilled version of a bunch of different YouTube videos and articles that are all beneficial.

Great for new investors in the stock market
Iโve been investing for 55 years. At age 50, I switched from a career in high tech to financial advising, achieving a CFB designation in the process. For the next 16 years, I learned to help others learn the power of the stock market. After reading this book, I now recommend they too read the book. The caveat is, this book certainly provides a good base to start from. But there is so much more to learn. Use this book to learn the basics, then continue to learn the finer points of the information presented here.

Easy read that was very informative. Broke complex topic down into digestible lessons with simple strategy ideas. Great introduction to trading, I would highly recommend.

1/4 of a Book but it still has good information for beginners
CAUTION Half of the book is literally blank pages, a double disclaimer and double offering/promotion section. Technically speaking, it's kind of a rip off and the way it was written as if it were intended to be a digital book. It has tons of URL and 'Click Here' links which really don't make much sense when reading the paper form. Even if it were only digital, it needs lots of format cleaning, the text is double spaced so if the other half of the book was supposed to be real content it's actually half of the half book you were left with. So then, on with reviewing the quarter book you purchased. It actually explains things in simple terms, kind of skimming through the basics. If you are tired of looking for YT videos and or the learning section of your Broker app I would say it's a decent quick read that can make you think of some things you were not considering before when it comes to investing. I'm sure there are other books at a similar price range that can provide more value. 3 out of 5 stars just because it's cheap and the little bit of knowledge you get actually comes through.

Great Intro to Investing for Teens!
I ordered A Beginnerโs Guide to the Stock Market for my teenage son to help him understand stocks and investing, and itโs been a great resource. The book is written in a simple, easy-to-follow way that makes a complicated subject much less intimidating. It explains the basics clearly and gives practical examples without overwhelming the reader. Perfect for beginners of any age, but especially helpful for young people just starting to learn about money and investing. Definitely worth it!

A Stark Introduction to a Treacherous Realm
In the vast, unpredictable kingdom of finance, where fortunes rise and fall as swiftly as a lordโs favor, Matthew R. Kratterโs A Beginnerโs Guide to the Stock Market serves as a sturdy sword for the fledgling investor. The book navigates the perilous landscape with clarity and purpose, outlining essential principles and strategies that one must grasp to surviveโand perhaps thriveโin this unforgiving arena. Each chapter is a careful map of the terrain, warning of pitfalls while highlighting opportunities, much like a wary traveler heeding both the terrain and the treacherous players who populate it. Yet, as with any beginnerโs tome, it does not arm the reader with the full arsenal required for all eventualities. Certain complexities of the marketโthose subtle intrigues and unexpected betrayalsโare touched upon but not fully explored, leaving the reader to venture further into the fray with caution and curiosity. Nonetheless, it is an engaging and practical guide, offering both direction and the sense that with study and vigilance, one may survive the chaos of financial battle. Four stars, for it is a worthy companion to those who seek to wield knowledge as both shield and blade in the unforgiving world of investing.

Not completely beginner friendly
Book seems to be intended for someone with little knowledge in stock market. Explaining in broad terms and some are even less detailed.

For absolute beginners
If you have absolutely no clue how the stock market works this is a very good start. It's a very short read but it teaches you key subjects that will help understand other beginner books on the subject more easily. For the price you can't go wrong.

Great for newbies
I never thought about getting into this business, till a friend told me that he's doing ok. I got this book and it gave me a great insight about how it works. It isn't a magic book, but open your mind on this path. It's basically showing you around the business.
