Awesome, just an awesome knife.
I happened to catch an episode of The Kitchen and one of the chefs' mentioned her love of her off-set, serrated knife. I've never seen much less used an off-set knife and decided to splurge on this Shen-made knife. Boy oh boy, what a knife this is! The knife was in my hand 2 days after placing the order. Perfectly balanced and very comfortable in my hand. It is as sharp if not sharper than any knife I own. So far I have cut thin slices of tomato and onions and cut thick slices of prime rib roast. The knife is an awesome addition to my collection and I anticipate it becoming one of my go-to knives. Moderately priced but not cheap but for me, well worth the price.

LOVE THIS KNIFE
The offset blade allows a smooth and level cut all the way down to the cutting board. The teeth are smooth enough to not tear the bread, but toothy(?) enough to grip and slice through the softest of bread. And Shun handles are simply the best.

Best knife in the drawer
All I can add to the rest of the five-star reviews is that this is our go-to knife for slicing tomatoes - as thin as you like . Bread knife? Great. Sure! But when you can put this tooth to a tomato with quick and easy accuracy? Stupendous. Best wedding present ever.

keeps knuckles pain free
This is a beautifully designed very sharp offset knife. Wonderful ergonomically. No knuckle scraping at the end of the run.

Great for those crusty loaves
I love Shun knives and this bread knife is no exception. I was using my Utility knife for most breads, but since I have started making loaves every week with my breadmaker, I needed something longer. I really like the offset edge of this knife. It is of course very sharp and also a fine tool for slicing tomatoes. Since my Utility needs to be sent out to be sharpened soon, it's nice to have another serrated edge knife on hand. This slices my large loaves very well. The handle is very comfortable to hold.

Shun knives join quality materials with functional beauty
I have been collecting Hattori knives for several years, but they have become increasingly difficult to find. This knife is my first foray into the Shun line. What a pleasant surprise! Well-made, well-balanced, and elegant in appearance. At the same time, they take and hold an edge very well. Definitely worth having, for the amateur and the professional.

Very nice knife
This is a very nice knife. I have used an off set knife for a long time and find it especially good for vegetables. My son, who is a chef, also likes it a lot and asked for one for Christmas. I bought this for him - I love the Shun quality and razor edge.
