Has anyone used this behind the front row of seats in a Subaru Forester?

Yes, I have mine installed behind the driver seat of my 2017 Forester. It fits just fine.

I have a 2016 jeep grand cherokee. will this fit behind the back seats as well as the front seats? how deep? only dimension i see is 50" across

I purchased this for a 2014 Sonata and got to fit in my 2014 Santa-Fe and it work well. I don't know about a Jeep. I seem to remember there being two different widths and I don't remember which I purchased. Whichever one I purchased should have fit a Sonata. Hope this helped.

For those who have it installed in a 2015 Subaru Outback, which of the two sizes did you find works best?

We have the 50" in our Subaru Forester, and it fits beautifully. We like the ease of use; just had to remove it to take a trip without the dogs (sob), and it came out easily, too.
