Loose and hard to install
Like a few others, the plastic insert for the wall kit is a joke. I've had other wall kit pet doors where the wall kit was attached to one side. This just floats between the two pieces of the door. It was very difficult to get the parts together. The xlarge kit requires you to cut the wall stud, being wider than 16 at center, as normal walls are built. After adding a stud for support, and after the hole is cut, the bolts ended up going through the studs. The idea of having to cut the bolts was never explianed before purchasing. After 5 plus hoirs, managed to get it together. The plastic pieces between the ends are loose and would rub the flap when opening. Ended up securing the sides and bottom with screws and has to fill in the gaps. I wish I could have found another one like it.

Should have done this a long time ago!
This wall kit (paired with the Perfect Pet door, which incidentally, IS NOT INCLUDED), is awesome. I had some trouble getting everything here initially due to my own failure to read everything correctly. Here's how to order this kit:1. Decide on the size of the opening you need in your wall (typically exterior, but it would work if for some reason you wanted an interior wall too)2. Match that size up with the size of one of the Perfect Pet pet doors--Xsmall, Small, Medium, Large, XLarge.3. When you pick the door, order the door, and somewhere in the product description, it should tell you which wall kit it pairs with--A.B,C, etc.4. Order the corresponding wall kit.Things I like about this kit:1. It was REALLY easy to install (once I figured out what I was doing ordering parts).2. It does form a really weather-tight seal when paired with the all-weather Perfect Pet door.3. Even my slightly mentally-challenged cat (I have 5) and my very timid cat seemed to have no problem getting used to going through the little tunnel in the wall formed by the wall extender kit. (We were worried that they might freak out a little about this, but after an hour, they were fine.)Recommendation for acclimating cats:When you first need the cats to get used to the door, start out without the flap of the door itself. Then once they get accustomed to going through the flap-less tunnel in the wall, add first one flap, then the other. We're still in the one-flap stage, but it seems to be going well so far and in South Carolina summer, it's not costing a fortune in lost AC.UPDATE - Several months have gone by, and the product is still working well, completely intact, and the cats still use it with no trouble at all. No complaints.

Door itself is great. This โtunnelโ... not so much.
Double flap door : 5 starsExtension tunnel: 2 starsThe Door is great. High quality plastic unit โ well made and attractive. The clear plastic vinyl flaps are thick and high quality. Because theyโre flexible, your pet cannot get pinched/trapped by the door, which actually happened one time to my cat with a different pet door. The flaps are also easy to remove and replace if needed. The threaded bolts are also high quality. Now, the bad news:The tunnel extension product is poorly conceived, designed and manufactured: Hereโs why:1. Itโs not a telescoping unit. Instead, the tunnel is in 6 pieces which are friction fit together (more on this in a moment). If your wall is maximum thickness for this tunnel, you leave all 6 pieces intact. If your wall cavity is somewhat narrower, you must snap off an inch (or two) from each of the six pieces before assembling them.2. The left-right *width of the tunnel is about 1/2โ narrower than the cavity it fills, so there is unnecessary โplayโ. The gap is noticeable โ and also lets cold air in. I hot glued the tunnel to one side, and bought some weatherstripping to take up the gap on the other side. Not ideal.3. Be warned: if your walls are not at the maximum thickness for this product, you will need to hacksaw the long threaded bolts, then de-burr the ends in order to get them to thread properly. The instructions actually tell you this. The better solution would be to ship this product with three different lengths of bolts, so customers are not asked to cut and deburr bolts themselves.

It fits, just not super snug
Alright, kind of a pain to snap together but ultimately not so bad. Fits the dog door but definitely isn't snug, which would be ideal. However instructions clearly say to caulk into place to avoid movement.Next time I would probably just make an insert myself and save money but it does the job.

It works
Sets up and is easy to install. Unless you cut the hole to big like I did and it wonโt sit very well. Nothing some filler canโt fix

Fits only OK
Not a fan of the wall kit. Comes with some cheap double sided tape which kind of holds it in place, so I suppose thatโs good. The width and height are great, however the depth does not fit snug to the inner and outer door frames. As of right now it moves around forward and backward but I will end up glueing it in place.
